hi there...!
sorry to hijack your thread... cos i love food...!! and your photos are nice...! if you call that "newbie" ... then i think i'm worse than newbie...!
anyway i'm pretty new to this forum... so i guess i'd do a little self intro... i hope TS don't mind i post it in here...
well... first about my hobby... my #1 hobby... is NOT photography... but FOOD...!!! (which is why i am drawn into this thread) i love hunting for new and good food...!! and because of my love for food... and from influence from my makan kakis... i started take food pictures whenever we had makan outing... and I found myself enjoying taking these photos cos it enhances my joy in eating good food...! plus the food photos serves as memories of the nice eating places i've been to...! hence i found myself a new hobby to compliment my #1 hobby...
however... as i was still using rather old compact P & S camera (is a nikon S4) then... i always have trouble taking good pictures especially indoors in restaurants... some restaurants doesn't have very good lighting. and i didn't want to buy DSLR because of the bulk... i'd know that i won't want to frequently bring a bulky DSLR out everytime i go makan... and then hence i decided to go mirrorless and bought olympus E-PL2 last yr june...
after i got my new camera... i've been trying to improve my photography skills in taking food photos... and hence i started to read about photography stuff and hence came into this forum.... i'd try to post some of my food photos soon and hope all the pros here can give me some advice...!!
finally... got a suggestion to TS... when u post all the nice photos of the food... maybe can also comment how good the food taste...?? hehe... okay that's all for now...
regards,
wacky

looks yummy...!! i wished i could cook liddat...
as for the photo.... very clear and nice...! except that i feel that shots taken from top down for food... the food lacks a 3D feel... so it looked kinda flat... anyway just my own personal opinion and preferences... :x
