speaking of which...walking over to chek jawa can be time consuming as i heard its quite far off.

might get a little tired but we can have lots of opportunities for photo taking along the way.

what do you all think? most people who visit chek jawa take the vans as we have to climb up lots of hills etc etc to get there so its a little inaccessible by foot IMO

It takes about 45 min to 1 hr to walk to Chek Jawa. For such a large group, maybe 1 1/2 Hrs.
Not really a lot of steep or high hills la. At most a gentle 20 deg slope at the highest for about 5mins.

I think to save time, we better take a van. Then on the return trip to the jetty, we can walk.

Hope you guys actually enjoy the trip. But speaking from experience after going to chek jawa a couple of times even before the govt or the public came into the picture, in order to really be able to see the wonderful marine life there it has gotta be really low tide which occurs a couple of times a year.

how about checking out this site, by Dr Chua Ee Kiam, who wrote the book on chek jawa. Spledid and wonderful book indeed. I would say it was a really wonderful and great project, visiting chek jawa countless of times to get these wonderful shots. Quite a number of shots taken by my dad as well(billy kon). Perhaps you can check the libraries to see if you can borrow them. Or if you would like, feel free to drop me a mail if you would like to view them. Too bad I was too young at that time to be shooting. =D

By the way, I would say going there aint easy to see marine life there. Of all the times I've been there, I had to stay at a chalet there, and set of for chek jawa as early as 5am. That's when the low tide starts. (gotta check when the tides are really super low as well) but i suppose no one will be organising tours as that time? ha.)
