I'd checked with MS, Canon mount not in yet. Still dun know the price from them. But if it's close to the Canon's new 18-200mm then I'd forgo the extra zoom ..

Well, if you've followed my link, it's US$599 , see above for HK prices. It shouldn't be too far off.

So far:

Focus: no problem. Pretty fast at 18mm, and even at 270mm. Sometimes at low light does tak bit more time but no issues there yet.

Prob bring it out to Chinatown to shoot around, but it's raining!

hi... i'm pretty new at this... so please don't mind my stupid question... wouldn't this new lens (18-270mm) lose to the Tamron 28-300mm in terms of zoom?.... I know that this new lens is 15X zoom and the 28-300mm is about 10.7X zoom.... BUT again... wouldn't you lose the extra 30mm that the 28-300mm lens is able to give?... anyone with any comments?

28-300mm is not as wide as 18-270mm, that's why.

You don't consider zoom multiplier as a 'quality' of a lens. You look at the focal length and see if its appropriate for your use.
