Have e-mailed the dealer Tithes Marketing for the product arrival time. Hope it is here soon. Anyone else interested, maybe can try to buy in "bulk"?

Better put your hope on the 18-200 cos I dun think the 18-270 VC is coming anytime soon.

I am one of the people holding off 18-200mm for this lens too. Don't have any walkabout lens in that focal range now. Tahan and wait.

the range is seriously unbelievable... and with recent improvements in technology, it sounds promising enough...

but there's this funny bugging feeling in me that tells me that beyond 200, the lens wouldn't work well...

Just came back from HK and this len is already out. Price is 4150 HK dollars which is S$783.

It seems that focusing for the Tamron at longer ranges is slow or may not focus at all in some situations. Hope the price is significantly cheaper, but will check at the dealers tomorrow on the pricing.

Any thoughts?

From the blog, the colours look reasonably okay on the Tamron. But seriously, a slow focusing speed throws me off at times. So nope, I'm not gonna buy this one. If I ever want a range lens, looks like i'll still settle for the Nikkor 18-200 VR.

yea...i think tamron still has focus speed issues with alot of its motorized lens e.g 17-50 2.8 with motor. compared to nikkon af-s or sigma hsm they are still far behind.

Yeah, I know how it feels with the 17-50 f/2.8. Was shooting with it one day and suddenly it made weird noises...

I don't really comfortable with f/6.3 in the tele end... this will cause of the focusing problem especially in a not so bright situation (even if the wide end aperture is f/3.5).
