Alan Photo sales person said the Canon version will arrive at the end of the month of Oct... Not sure whether true or not... :)

I went to test this lens (Nikon mount) at MS Color today. Tested it with D60 (provided by them as well). I was quoted $930 for the lens. Played with it for about 10-15 minutes. I am veyr pleased with their service. They left me all alone to test the lens. After all the mostly negative user reviews on the net, I did not expect a lot from this lens. But in the end I am quite happy with the lens. I would say the focusing is quite fast at wide (18-50mm), as fast as my D90 kit lens. Even at 270mm focus speed is still quite ok. Regarding sharpness of the lens at 270mm, very hard to comment based on the LCD screen of D60, but seems ok. One thing I find it funny is the lens' tendency to shake at low light when using VC. The shake can be quite vigorous. Also the lens tends to creep a bit between 70-200mm (very very minimal, but the lens I tested is a new set). I might get this lens once my bonus is out before Christmas. Guys, where is the cheapest place to get this lens, thanks.

Hi, I'm a new member.

Any one know whether Tamron 18-270 VC for Canon already available in Singapore?
How much is the price?

Thanks for the info.

we are all holding our breath for the arrival of this baby for Canon... :)

i got my 18-270 nikon mount from Lords for sgd 880

john 3:16 quoted me 890.

I've happily shot a few hundred shots wif it. Not many issues with it. quite happy wif the results. focus quite fast at wide angle.

lens is a bit heavy compared to the d90 body.

sometimes it takes a while to focus at extereme end of 270mm range, when there is lower range of light. :)

otherwise, not too bad! had it just less than a week!

anyway any comments on the sharpness at f3.5 @ 18mm and f6.3 @ 270mm?
some 100% crops will be nice... heehee ;)

What is the max aperture of this lens at 50-55mm, 105mm? 135mm? and 200mm?

Thanks.

If you're referring to the newly introduced EFS 18-200 IS from Canon, it's been available for quite some time already.

:Later,

Sorry, I am referring to the 18-270mm Canon mount version... Is that out yet?
