EHH! someone tell me wads the diff between the new and the older version which i own (2nd hand for only $400)? Wads to judge the +$1200k difference in price? Anyone? I cant find anything off the net.. lol!

Think its true john selling at 1.2k... cos I'm buying lens at that point of time and 24-70 HSM is one of the lens I wanted to get. If they anyhow quote and I order from him at 1.2k, who is going to topup the difference if they can't get the lens at that price?

Spend too much on that day so didn't prder the HSM.... so tempting haha

Quick question : Is the warranty valid if one buys a international copy ? Seems the only problem is front-focusing, correctable on pro bodies.

The pics seems to show "swirling" kind of bokeh @ f2.8. A little distracting.

I think "steal" is not proper word to describe the price gap. Check out Nikon review on this lens and you know why. Anyway, do carry out strict testing before handing over your money.

just back from john 3:16.. price confirmed at 1220...problem is..he seems to have a bad review on this lens...like bro mentioned above...

he told me i will be throwing money on a lens with no sale value.
I am so demoralise by the words of his that i withdrew my deposit. He didnt even pushed me to place a deposit for it..so what do you guys think about this recommendation?

And further that, i went over to CP and asked one of the sales about this lens. The remarks seems to be the same. They still felt its over priced for this lens..with the extra HSM features..

I was recommended to get the tammy 28-75mm instead...they say its so much worth the price for this sigma lens

john 3:16 has been "confirmin" 12xx price for the sigma hsm but has nvr brought it in or sold one at that price before, so i would question if he has really used one before to give a "bad review". Anyone who bought at that price from john 3:16 please corrrect me.

it is expensive for a sigma, but the quality i would say is up there with the canon/nikon 24-70 lens

Bro ricleo, I see vignetting when using with yr cam ... sayang man.

full frame + F2.8 = guaranteed vigenetting.

but as long as it does not distract too much from the subject, i actually find it enhances the focus on your subject.
