New sensor for X10 and X-S1 (to fix white orbs)

Limited sensors arrived. If u reported the problem in march or b4 u may have a chance to get it replaced.
else have to wait in the queue. Fuji will call u. Unfortunately I reported in may and now in queue.

Yup. Got call up to get my sensor replace. They will call up a few at a time from the list. Guess it's to allocate sufficient time for each sensor replacement, rather than all rush in with the cam.

thanks for sharing to us this info

any idea when the units will hit the shelf for retail stores?

How do you report it?

for those that are looking at getting the x10. Most store do have those with the new sensor. however, do note that some of them are charging a higher price for it.

Managed to get the X10 after the sensor replacement. Tested, long exposure street shot, look good, no orbs. Took abt 5days for the replacement.

I checked with some shops and 1 one of them in funan say they have the new sensor. I asked them how they know and they show me the serial number starting with 14M.

I was skeptical so I checked online through many posts and realize they are bluffing . 14M means it is produced on Q4 2011 and M is the country. The latest batch is 21 which is Q1 2012.

But they might not contain the latest sensors so if you want to be safe, have to wait till Q3 2012. I will be calling fujifilm tomorrow to check if they can tell me when is it safe to buy it. Will update all interested parties who want to get a new X10 which is a great camera  sans the probs :thumbsd:.

Woah nice. Haven't got calls yet. May be just to buzz them for reminder.

Just spoke to one of the sales guy. Quite amusing. Below are his points

1. They are not changing the sensor for X10, only changing the firmware to latest. There is no word from their jap office on the sensor change as well (This is quite a shocker as some of the other users here have their sensor changed already!)

2. He spoke to many professionals and they say it is a very rare occurence and it happens to other makes as well (I sort of agree that it happen for other makes but the orb is more unique for X10 as they are using EXR technology)

As usual, he gave me the sales talk and how he has confidence in this product. I don't fault him for this as it is his job.

All in all, I will still take the leap to purchase X10 as it is still an awesome camera :bsmilie:

sent in my X10 for sensor replacement yesterday and received a call today saying that it is ready to be collected. thumbs up!

anyone know any reliable store in singapore which is carrying the x10 with new sensor? or any sure way of checking (serial number etc) to know if the product at the store is with new sensor? friend of mine is looking to buy in singapore. reading this thread, seems like stores claiming to have x10 with new sensor are bluffing?
