New sensor for X10 and X-S1 (to fix white orbs)

The new lens zooming is indeed smoother.
Mine is fine, can zoom out to 112mm with f2.8 displayed. At 28mm, it is f2.0.

what do you mean by the f2.2/f2.0 problem?

at aperture priority mode, turn on the camera.

should see f2.0 at 28mm and f2.8 at 112mm.

zoom in and out a few times, try changing f number using mode dial.

go back to 28mm and should still see f2.0.

mine shows f2.2 instead of f2.0. supposed to be fixed if firmware version is 1.03. think need calibration....

I think I saw this before previously rarely. But it really does not bother me.

Just about to purchase the X-S1. Is there a manufacturered date on the box I should look for, to ensure I've got the new sensor? Is M22 still the serial number we should be looking for?
Thanks

Hi,
Finally got called by Fuji last week to replace my sensor, and collected it today.

From the paper, I got my sensor replaced (with the lens assembly replaced too). So far so good. ORB is definitely gone.

All photos herein is OFC (no other processing)

L SIZE DR100 ISO100

EXR M SIZE DR DR100 ISO400 (as you know EXR mode means camera decide to open wide the lens, resulting in the specular highlight from the lamp; not ORB)

MACRO with flash. So the new lens assembly can focus close and still retain sharpness.

Stress test on the dynamic range and not bad at all.

The x10 built in flash got stuck...only found out when i got back home. I had to gently pull out the flash by hand as it got stuck 3/4 way out when I pop it out... How to be sure the flash is pop out 'completely', well you can see a Flash icon on the top left hand corner (I'm on force flash mode) on the LCD screen if the flash is out.

After a few nervous attempt, it is loose enough to pop out on demand. No harm done but a little disappointed.

Disclaimer, it is still your choice to have your sensor replaced which is at your own risk as I have not tested it thoroughly. But so far so good even though I feel like the picture is a little noisier in EXR mode. Maybe read too much forum and hear to many complains about the camera and service. Forgive me for finding fault. Don't get me wrong I'm still happy with my decision and good luck to you!

just to update my status.

I'm still waiting for my sensor to be replace. registered on Jul'12 and still waiting...
so for those who register later than me please be patient =).

Just wanna check, for those who're going to buy the X10 or X-S1 now, do they have to send the camera back to service center straight to solve the sensor problem? Please advise

I thought new batches ship already with the new sensor.

last time i checked, X10's with serial number starting with "22M" are with the new 'fixed' sensor, so if thats the case u dont need to send to service center.

another update,

just received a call from fuji this morning. was informed that i can bring my cam down for sensor replacement anytime..

another update,

finally after 2weeks i managed to sent in my fuji x10 for the sensor replacement yesterday.
