By constant calling to Fuji Singapore and Cathay Photo and reading up on photography forums. It is hard work but still glad that I got the camera. It has been awesome so far!

ah, cathay photo has got the new sensor X10 in stock now? great

Send in my x10 today for the sensor replacement. Pray & hope it turns up good.

For info, I just found out that Eng Kiat no longer handles these issues.
Instead, the new email regarding such enquiries is fsin.camera-service@fujifilm.com.
Please direct future enquiries to this email.

As an update, stock for new sensors are coming in, but limited.
So, as of now, the queue has reached those registered for sensor replacement in late March.
Hope this helps.

Anxiously awaiting the service centre to call me up for sensor replacement. :)

Hi, may I know how much did you get the x10 with the modified sensor for?

hi guys, those with new sensors have you encountered the noisy image using the following settings: low ISO, high DR, Medium File Size ?

just want to bump this query :)

can anyone with the new sensor test taking pics at ISO 100, DR 400 and Medium JPEG ?

mine exhibits noise at these settings.

damn i still waiting for my turn....

It will help if you actually post a pic of the image. Mine X10 old sensor exhibit some shadow noise at ISO 100, DR400 too. Can you post a pic to let us see if it is excessive?

It might be a good idea to do a side-by-side test with another fellow X10 user with the old sensor of the same scene to do a fairer comparison?
Then post the 2 pictures up for comparison? :)

*just my 2 cents worth*

i read from other user feedback, after change to a new sensor, ORBS issue solved...but picture are much noiser..

More feedback from X10 users in HK and US on DPR having noise issues from "replaced" sensors:
X10 new sensor is noisy at low ISO?: Fujifilm Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review

It seems that the noise becomes higher in EXR mode and when size=M.

yup it's when you use low iso/ high dr/ medium jpeg. fortunately for the threadstarter in your link his was fixed via firmware update that only fuji can do.

i just checked some old pics of mine at the same settings and it's definitely not that grainy.

I don't think mine is that noisy but you had your ISO set to 200. When I use EXR DR400 I almost always set ISO100.

In fact I find that yours is much worse. For me, the shadow noise is noticeable if I pixel peep and zoom in. But definately not at this size.

mm... I am having second thoughts for changing the sensor. Seriously, from an engineering standpoint, the first sensor was probably the best because they had like years to optimize it.

The second one.... fixed in like a couple of months.... I bet they traded off SOMETHING to fix the white orb.

I am not really perturbed by the white orbs anyway....

Anyone had their sensor replaced? From dpreview threads it seems that somehow the new sensor cannot for exr dr400 anymore. Fujifilm seems to be pushing shadows a lot during dr400 for the new sensor.

just an update my problem with the noisy image @ low iso/ high dr/ medium jpeg file has been resolved by fujisg :)

how did they solve it? what's the best way to check whether there's such problem with the camera?
