New photo leaks of OM-D

I dun thk its official. But damn it looks abit like E5. In fact reminds me of the sony dslr with the evf. Hmmm....if its too big and similar size to dslr i wun be too keen.

See the pic of the guy holding it... it looks small. Some comments said that it's smaller than the ep3...

Looks like a holding plate between body and battery pack. There's also a additional grip in front, may have something to do with it?

yup! i think i spot 2 shutter buttons there! sharp eyes!

It's keeping too closely with the Oly OM traditional look i think. A little too boxy for my liking too.

I don't like it... It looks like a flatten DSLR... I prefer fujifilm's or Leica's designs... oh well, it is just a personal opinion... cheers!

I personally don't like it as well, the front seems like a E-420 type of body, but the back, it looks too... out of proportionate

So you see the difference now. Beautiful camera with alot of OM legacy.

So its just the OM look that u like? Its basically the same stuff in a new package, hope you realize that. Nothing fundamental has changed.

Looks like the battery grip is both vertical and horizontal?

Can't wait for 8th Feb for the official announcement.

Never underestimate the draw of the OM legacy. That was the golden era of Olympus and I believe this legacy still has a very strong cult following even today. I will buy this one regardless of what I am using now.

Even if all evidence points towards a sensor that Panasonic has been using for months now?

Assuming that the attached lens is the 12-50mm, then it looks about the same width as the E-P3, but much taller because of the hump.

Myself (and I believe many current photo enthusiasts) who grew up in the digital age of photography, legacy does not play a part in the purchase decision.

I grew up in the digital age, but I understand the truly revolutionary nature of the OM system. I think you'll find a few others on this forum- maybe not a place like HWZ, but certainly on CS.

Retro is the "In" thing. The 100K Fujifilm X100 sold is a good example. Lets hope the m43 party for Olympus last as long as it can.

I suspect the X100 sold a lot cos of the great IQ and hybrid viewfinder.. When good design turns up something as striking as the iPhone once was, I call that the 'in' thing, and that could actually move product. When you get a camera that looks nice but isn't revolutionary (all cameras basically look within 10% of each other... minor differences), then I think it makes no sense to say the 'party' is lasting because of great design.

Why not Olympus just mimic the size and look of the Om2n with winder2?
The new version looks too much like a modern dslr.
Just mine personal opinion. I am a nikon f3 user but I recently purchase a Om2n and winder 2 combo, found the small size to b quite addictive.

You win liao! :bsmilie:

Anyway, just saw this picture on 43rumor, this should be the actual one ;)

Anyone noticed the "two stage" locking of the vertical grip? Looks like there is 1 grip that adds a shutter release, then another for the battery pack and vertical shooting and additional FN button... this is a weird design...

Yep.. 43rumors said its similar to the OM-4 design. Verical Grip and Battery Grip. 2 grips hence 2 locks !
