Yep... but now they have a bunch of people saying that D200 is not available... and a replacement is out soon

To keep the market going, companies have to introduce products every 2-3 years. So these are the launch dates for previous DSLRs:

6 Mar 07 - D40x
16 Nov 06 - D40
9 Aug 06 - D80
1 Jun 06 - D2Xs
1 Nov 05 - D200
20 Apr 05 - D50 kit
20 Apr 05 - D70s kit
16 Feb 05 - D2Hs

Gone are the days of the good old cameras which last a really long time. With electronics, they would change every 2-3 years.

So... go figure what will be out next

I am just hoping Nikon will come out with a high end one similiar to the 1D Mark 3. Then I can really put my D2x into trophy case and keep it. As it is right now, I still have to use my D2x on some special occasions.

FF is not really an important factor. If the D2xs is selling for $8k now, imagine a full frame pro range one selling for.. 9-10k? The price puts me off.

The thing I want most is a zoom lens that has an very big aperture size. Hope Nikon throws some moeny into developing that instead of R&D cameras. The most I have seen is f/2.8.

If you're expecting that putting a DX it will be cheaper, unfortunately it does not work that way for tele lenses. ;p

I'm just hoping for Nikon to produce f4 zoom lens similar to Canon's 70-200 f4. It will be nice to have 55-200 f4 VRII. I'll do anything for that lens!

Why not.. low light capability of a prime (and depth of field) and also saving me
trouble of changing lens most of the time.

(Not to mention the fantastically small depth of filed at 200mm completely wde open)

cheaper i dono, but the cut in weight is definitely significant.

I believe Nikon these 2 years still no have the technology to produce a FF censor ... :bheart: ...
Anyway, they concentrate on the market of entry level dslr can let them earn more money :lovegrin:
