so amazon release date is Sep30. is SG really that far behind on releases that we can only expect it by December?
was hoping to get one for my mid-Nov Japan trip. or maybe i should just buy it there?

Based on previous launches, will surely be delayed even in the US.

Guess d price will b as ex as d ep5. Seemed d M4/3 r getting more pricey as they keep improving d specs.

If I'm not wrong olympus have dropped the price of ep5 and other products in the US to stay competitive

Actually can see even now there's a little difficulty selling an EP5. Can still remember when it's was the EM5 half a year ago , resale sets were generally very quickly snapped up and mostly retained their value.

Everyone is looking forward to the GX7 or EM6 in hawking after a change of body.

For me , I love the EM5 , and will be retaining mine until the GX7 or EM6 comes and takes my breathe away haha

Probably so? You'd need to know how to read Nihon though, Jap domestic sets doesn't come with English language. No warranty except for Japan local market too.

Well in Japan they Have special export units that have English menus and cost more.

The reason is simple - when pany sg delay launch or unable to confirm a launch date hence those can't wait is willing to pay more and buy it oversea, and take the risk on the warranty coverage. this happened during the gh3 isnt it.. haha

If you have yodobashi gold card you get discount. As tourist you can claim back the taxes. So export only models may not be more ex than local set. Of course warranty is the issue. Read somewhere that Singapore is considered 2nd wave for any new camera launch. So places like HK TW JP will get the first shipments. All this is exactly how it was for GH2 & GH3

I hope we have a choice of colours.. not like in the US where they only have the silver.. no black.. and no kits with the new 20mm mkII

Should have both (choice of colors & 20/1.7 MKII) , most prob the release in US is due to to it being 'early' and Pana testing the market with a limited release. Patience

The specs do look better than any of the Oly but I hope the IS works and the touch screen is as good as the Oly.
