New Lenses from Pentax (Q,K,645 and K01)

28mm was my favourite focal length for street photography when I was still doing it a while back. Such a versatile focal length.

I remembered your street series. Back when u were still using k20d. Honestly, I haven't tried this focal length on aps-c.

We have:
DA21 - 31.5mm
DA35 - 52.5mm

21mm too wide, 35mm too narrow. FA31 is expensive. So I would very much prefer a DA28 on a aps-c. I love 20mm in m4/3, focal length is just perfect. Seems like that's none in the pipeline? Sian 1/2...

Look at the lens photos, the DA50/1.8 looks just like the DA35/2.4 :) So I guess the price won't be too high.

The 560mm lens looks beautiful ;p

And the coolest lenses are probably the bodycap lens for the Q and the new lens for the K-01. I've already told you guys that they'd release some lenses dedicated for K-01 w/ rear elements extended into the empty space in front of the sensor, now this lens is another reason to buy the new K-01 camera ;)

The reason for the "bulkiness" of the K-01 is clear now! Very interesting Pentax

Wow k-01 lens soo good. This can go deeper to the mirrorbox... Also means i can also get this smaller lenses for my nx...

Mounting the 560mm lens on the Q using the adapter would give you 2,800mm GASP!

That could work to WR favour by having the zoom internally and small. If they could have an attached ovf and more FPS they are one up in the mirrorless game.

But no AF and focus peaking on the NX!

Nx got no focus peaking but have focus bar on display... :)

how come no one mentioned on the road map ?

i am damn excited for the DA* zoom (~20-80mm F2.8) ... definitely a replacement for my tammy when it is release.

Well, if they really target for a 20-80mm f2.8 I think the size will be huge.....
Maybe is a 20-80mm f4... *dunno*

16-45 created in 2003 then comes 2005 06 come out zoom at F2.8 so you never know how technology goes. Since pentax was good in making quality small lens, I don't rule out seeing one faster limited zooms in near future.Go pentax go!!!!

DA 50mm replacement for the FA 50mm
DA ~20-200mm walkaround zoom
DA 550mm non-star telephoto prime
DA limited short zoom (~20-40mm)
DA wide zoom (~10-25mm)
DA* zoom (~20-80mm F2.8)
DA telephoto zoom (~100-300mm)
DA 1.4x SDM teleconverter

Looking forward to the DA* fast zoom!

more then 500mm and teleconverter....very interested.

i believe this is effective range 20-80mm ?

Effective as in 35mm equivalent? Definitely not from the way they write.

to my knowledge, pentax does not use "35mm equivalent" to name its lenses. Ricoh does that for its GXR modules and i can understand the reason for that: different GXR modules may have different sensor sizes so its easier to convert everything to 35mm equivalent.

also, the actual focal length of a 35mm equivalent 20-80 would be 13-53... and there's already a DA*16-50 :dunno: what's the point?

a 20-80 is actually a good focal length for what many would call a "walkabout" lens - something like the very popular pentax or sigma 17-70. with crop, it works out to 30-120. i can so imagine myself using this lens :) but i suspect that it'll be a pretty big lens.

50mm replacement?? oh dear..

Would be great if it's a 16-85/4 WR DC lens. It'd be way too big if it's F2.8.

I based on DA wide zoom (~10-25mm), if 35mm term it will be a 7-16mm lens which I don't think will exist.
