Does the camera make a lot of clicking/ticking noise when it is in EXR Auto mode?

Mine appears to be having this symptom, i am not sure if its a problem

This is normal. ;)

To stop the clicking noise, go to MENU > AF MODE > switch to either CENTRE or MULTI.

thanks, gave me a scare as i thought it was a lemon unit, called up to verify with the place i bought it from and when i called up fujifilm singapore, they couldn't give an answer as the camera was too new.

Ha... ha... there are people who think Jacob and I work for Fujifilm (we don't). ;)

Anyway, welcome to F.U.N. (Finepix Users Network).

To use DR above 100% with 'L' image size, use ISO 200 or higher in P, A and M modes.

Thanks for the answer. But I was more curious on 'why'. I guess I have to roll back 2 to 3 pages... this thread is getting very long...

p.s. Found it. So it is probably binning, which is also done in astrophoto softwares like Maxim/DL. That would mean the camera can go up to 400% DR, and the 800% DR is binned 2x2 from the 400% DR image? I hope someone writes an in-depth article on this soon...

Hi
This only works in modes other than EXR mode. In EXR mode, the focus is continuous by default and cannot be switched off.

Please refrain from double posting.

Some basic questions had been answered. You just have to do some thread digging.

Most of us here are photographers, not engineers. I doubt even Fujifilm Singapore can answer this question of yours.

Being curious is one thing, but you MUST know who is the right person to ask. Similarly if you have questions in school, you direct them to your teachers. Not your fellow classmates (they are as blur as you are).

is there a place to put spare battery and memory card? the free black fuji pouch only hold's the camera. thanks!

I got this at the recent IT Show for only $10.
It fits the F200EXR perfectly. Unfortunately, normally the price is higher. You can get it at Compass Point Best for under $20 but if you want to pay $10, have to wait for the next PC show..:)

Yes, it has a small pocket inside to store one SD card.

If you are looking for something to store both memory card and battery, go for the Kata pouch instead.

Sorry, not intentional. As I said, this thread has become very long and I do not login everyday so I have missed the earlier post. Maybe next time I will start a new thread and not infringe on your thread.

Yes, you can. Mine is switched off. ;)

Kopikaya.. i can't turn off mine in EXR Auto mode as well. There is not AF mode option... what's wrong?

AF mode option only appears in EXR S&N, EXR DR, EXR HR... but NOT in EXR Auto.

There is a small webbed pocket to store your SD card but no special space for the battery.
You can squeeze the extra battery in but that would mean scratching the camera.

There is nothing wrong with your camera. In EXR Auto, you cannot set any AF mode. Therefore, I will not shoot using EXR Auto. This continuous AF consumes power from the battery.

can share how you did it? I checked through the menu and F buttons and can't find the option to do it. thanks :)

Not if you use EXR Auto mode. I don't use this mode so my camera is free from all these annoying clicking noise. ;)
