New E mount Zeiss 16-70 f4 zoom


sony sg no stock or all camera shop no stock ?
 

I am quite lucky. Got mine last week from Artworkfoto.

How does the performance ? Worth the money you pay ? A lot review said it got soft corner....
 

I just tried the lens today. Corners not so sharp, but within my tolerance level (might not be acceptable to some). But one thing I don't like is it does have some purple fringing on the sides, when shot over bright background. Will do some more tests to verify.

Premium price but not premium performance... looks like I have to save my money n keep on use 16-50PZ liao...

Its expensive for what it is. It's also the only choice available for a decent range zoom. Decent size and speed, focuses quickly and accurately. Not surprised its selling quite well.
 

Agreed! Not much choice on e-mount lenses. Just getting this lens as a general walk-around lens. I also just got the metabones speed booster for my EF lenses, which seems to be more interesting.

Finally bought the lens on Saturday after sometime of shopping at Funan center.

Interestingly...
1) First shop that I visited quoted a higher price then what was communicated on the phone and only accept Cash. :(
2) Second shop quoted an initial price that is okie. When I am about to pay, the sales guy suddenly said he made a mistake, and the price is much higher. :(
3) The third shop quoted a lower price than 1 & 2. I quickly grab it and pay up.
 

got to wait to see how the 18-105G perform first before deciding to get this or not. I've seen some very bad corners even at F8 but also quite acceptable in other samples, seems like this lens has QC gap.

Price is cheap compare to standard Zeiss lens. Is the picture very good? say compare to Nikon or any other leading brand.

It does look pretty good! Though im prob gonna wait and see what the 18-105G zoom can do before thinking harder about the 16-70. No $$$ :)
