The 1.8G looks really good, very sharp and bokeh is not as "harsh" as the 1.8D. It's odd that the 1.4G looks soft, my copy is much sharper than my 1.8D. I should've waited for this instead of jumping for the 1.4G and save myself some cash.

How did you compare... One at f/1.8 and the other one at f/1.4? Or both at f/1.8.

My 1.4G is quite sharp wide open, while my 1.8D has to be stopped down a bit to be as sharp.

Seems not much different all those photos but just different bout the back light. Means 1.4g perfect for low light condition. Save money for better Len.

Nikon SG RRP: S$339. So I would guess slightly lower than this. Interesting only slightly cheaper than the 35mm DX lens.

It's at funan Digi mall. level 2. Might go hunt for cheaper price if any of other shops have stock
