Frankly, I read this thread with amusement. It basically showed how some people posted without facts and that the back pedalling is amusing.
Fact: the A100, D200 and D80/D90 sensor are all different. Yes, 10.2MP but the (number of) readouts are different. Can you say that the FX vs non-FX CPUs are the same?

The number of readouts alter the speed and flexibility of processing. Search on DPReview for the various comments about the number of readouts.
Fact: Chuck Westfall and Canon had stated that they are giving up on the MP race, instead, focusing on the DR. Also, they admitted that their lenses on FF have image quality issue. Do you think it is smart to release another FF camera when there is no 1st party solution?
Fact: Yes, Canon has better noise in this current generation of cameras,
but only at higher ISO settings and even then, the competitors' systems matches the previous generation of Canon cameras which many here still holds. The bragging of high ISO noise to me, looks as if the majority shoots at ISO1600-3200 and that all the previous generation of Canon cameras are now useless and should be thrown away since their noise matches the current competitors systems (which is not as good when compared to the current Canon)system.
Fact: The same fact said by different people will get a different response. Example? See the thread about the
Travel Charger and the fact that the power solution is overpriced and outdated vs
this thread from post #24 onwards. Both talk about the same thing.
To the thread starter, TYM, you started a flame bait. People, in general, don't like to be told that their favourite brand is slipping behind, be it camera or cars.
