need views for buying accessories from DD ELECTRONICS?

Anyone noticed that the 430exII price have been increased by more than 30%? It used to go for around $360 few months ago. They seem to have increased the price of the 85L also.....maybe they realised they priced too low?

Its not only that, compare the price of all the other items...most of them has increased by $100-200...Sianz....

they push up the price this evening by 100+ to 300+ on all lens and acc
not sure if those shops will do the same

Based on Canon Singapore website, the RRP is still the same, so shops got no reason to increase the pricing.

If DD continues with this pricing, I predict they will be out of business in no time

Yes, indeed they increased their retail price. the Canon EF 50mm 1.8 II cost $124 last week. Now, when i check again its already $189. Could it be because of the happenings in japan wherein supply has been disrupted? thats why they increased prices.

Haha, while people stocking up on salt and Iodine, CSers should start stocking up on their Canon lenses before the official ones also go up in price ;)

not worth buying from DDE anymore! everything price went up so much!

oh! i thought i saw wrongly cause yesterday morning saw 400mm F5.6L at S$1697
but checked again in the evening and it became S$1899. $200 increase!

They hike price also good lah, now I don't need to consider already, just buy local warranty set. Don't need to crack my head anymore in deciding whether to buy from them or my favourite shop selling Canon warranty set.

Hope their shop won't be closed down that soon :bsmilie:

By the way, our fellow Canon'ers across the causeway just had a celebration few days ago, most of the lenses went down in price across the board by 15%-30%. It really made me wonder what caused this round of price hike by DDE  Totally opposite.

anyone checked with those shops(MS,CP,AP etc).
Did they "up" their price?

If DDE closed shop, it will no longer provide shop warranty for past customers.

Yup just checked with my favourite shop. It is cheaper than our local shops, around $100, and comes with 2 yrs warranty. I was checking on 17-40. Basically u will get lens at around DDE rate before hike in price, but with 2 yrs canon warranty.

I think local customers they will lose alot, but they may still use Singapore as an export base. So should still be around lah...

Sure. Not sure if this is OT, but for the benefit of all CSers. This is my usual shop

JOHAN PHOTO & ELECTRONICS
Add:
Level 4- unit 9,
Plaza Angsana Tampoi
Ph No: 07-2385833
Operation Hours : 10:30am-10:00pm (everyday)

Look for Anthony (the boss) or Remy. This shop is also highly recommended in similar forum across the crossway for Johorean.

The only setback is that this shopping mall is not as populated as other bigger malls. For me I never stay there for more than half an hour. I buy and go. :) If you can go with friends then it will be better, but I always go alone. Maybe you can jio me if you going....;)

If that may be a concern, you may also want to try another shop located in Jusco Tebrau. It is called Mee Too Foto. It should be located at the 3rd level. This mall is more crowded and most people feel "safe" there. Alot of Singaporean go there to shop too.

The last one is Foto CLS located on the 2nd floor of Pelangi Leisure Mall.

For me other than these 3, I don't bother to look at other shops in JB due to pricing and service.

Either one you choose, remember to be polite and nice, and you can bargain a little more from the price they quote you. Malaysian are very nice if you are nice too. :)

So far so good. I think the saying while we doing NS, "do anything but don't get caught" applies. I do not want to post how I do it here....hope you understand. I assure you for camera, most of the time should be no problem clearing customs.

Wah, DDE increased the pricing so much.. GodDmn!

I wanted to buy the 17-55mm, last week DDE price is only $1310, now it is $1399 !!!! On the other hand, 24-105 last week DDE price is $1,348, now it is $1599++ WTF!

So, my advice is better you guys go buy from KL (if u guys got a chance to go there) bcos all lenses+body prices drop so much and you get Canon Malaysia warranty.

17-55mm is now selling only RM3,300 = $1375 (even lower than DDE after conversion) after the RRP price reduction from Canon Malaysia. Previously, it was selling at RM3,800

Anyhow, I will be buying at KL (since I am a Malaysian and go back KL often).

BTW, I did bought my 430EXII from DDE in Jan2011 at $350 only... now they are selling at a crazy price of $509 ! LOL
