You can straight away put your darlings on it. No need to wait until stabilize at 40-50%RH.

After stabilize, depend on how long you open the door, the humidity can go up until environment RH, which I found is around 70-80%RH.

Arto.

Can put the equipment in already.

Just check on the humidity level and tweak the settings to ensure it will be around 45%... ;)

What size of the box did you get anyway?

i got a 40L box... :D :D ok my darlings will be going in there soon liaoz.....

Good... btw, I replied u on the shutter count in your PM. ;)

I usually see that 2 small ones are cheaper than an equivalent large one, like in your example.

All the more reason to get them separate then! Spread the risk and save money too.

I got a AD60L from digi cabi @ 168. Looks like its the standard price.

Recommended level of humidity is between 40-55?

Actually the recommended should be 50-60%.

i tot 45%?? hmmm i using @ 45% should i increase it?

tetrode, i set mine at 47. If the meter isnt that accurate, and gives an actual -(5 to 10) from 47, wont it damage the lens? I guess better tune it up abit :D

The humidifier is also not accurate as well (also with a tolerance of +- 5 - 10%). You are never going to get it to be accurate when both the measuring device and humidifying device are not accurate in the first place. Unless you have the DHC model which proportedly has the ability to accurately set the humdity level.

If it is too dry (less than 40%), the lubricants can dry up and can potentially cause damage to the mechanical parts of the items. e.g. shutters.

lol i am using dhc so wat to set?? i set mine @ 45% lol

lol left my darlings in it liaoz tomorrow when i get to work i'll adjust it... hope they are fine bah....

Between 40%-55% is about the correct RH for camera equipment. Above 55% may still encourage fungus growth. However, do not allow below 40% (prolonged) as this may dry the lubricants in your moving parts of the camera/lenses.
