Nope. You can't do that.

If it's your dad swimming in his dad's t's, then, you don't yet exist. ;-)

Yea, to me you can be a PR...

There's a right place for rants like this.

I find it strange that we have quite a few people declaring themselves to be PR but xyz people at heart.

Lest we get confused. A PR is not a citizenship. No PR anywhere in the world is able to obtain a passport of that country. The only passport will be from their home country, unless you denounced that, then you're stateless.

A citizenship is really not much more than a choice of who you want to pay your taxes for the facilities and benefits.

A PR is a guest with tax paying privileges for the benefits n privileges accorded.

No worries, I don't have a beef with foreigners here. It's all a mutually beneficial arrangement.

Yea, to me you can be a PR of SG but abc, xyz for all i care. At the end of the day, you are not allowed to stay here for long and you rightfully should stay loyal to your own country. My only problem is when you say you are a xyz-born and naturalised SG citizen but stays xyz at heart, that is not right.

guys... let's steer clear of this Nationalism fervor. you do know that there are others in the forum that are pretty much racist and aching for a swipe at foreigners. so stay cool and not post such crap. best if you can edit and remove these anti-foreigner remarks

just some friendly advice

My apologies. It's not meant to be ranting or anti-foreigner for that matter, and I'm sorry that it has been seen that way. I have absolutely no major issues with our foreign friends here and don't mean to offend anyone as well. In fact, what i meant to say was that it's really perfectly alright to stay loyal to their native countries - trying to clear some misconception that since you are a PR of a particular country, you should be loyal to your host country only. But well, i guess this forum clearly was not the right place.

Alright. Removed to avoid misconceptions. But our PR friends should and justly can be proud to state their homeland. The PR thing isn't worth talking about.

Just happen to born here in this little island ...

Yes.. my parents were immigrants to this land but they have assimilated to the culture here.. that aside, years and years ago, weren't our forefathers all immigrants to this land? it matters not where we come from but rather how we interact..
