The "SS" insignia

is displayed on the right collar of the uniform and also on the helmet.

Cuffbands (on the left hand sleeve) were worn in conjunction with a unit collar patch to denote regiment, battalion, and company affiliation.

The figure depicts a SS LAH (Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler) Officer in Parade order.

The SS grew from a small paramilitary unit to a powerful force that served as the Führer's body guards, the Nazi Party's "Protection Squadron" and a force that, fielding almost a million men (both on the front lines and as political police).

In the earliest days of the Nazi Party, the leaders realized that bodyguard units composed of trustworthy and loyal men would be a wise development. Initially the size of a regiment (brigade), the LAH (later renamed to LSSAH) eventually grew into an elite division-sized unit.

The Allgemeine SS (or "Universal or General SS") was the most numerous branch of the Schutzstaffel (SS) paramilitary forces of Nazi Germany. Foreign units of the Allgemeine SS were also raised in occupied countries.

They are made up of full-time officers and members and part-time volunteer members of SS regional units as well.

By 1940, all of the Allgemeine-SS had been issued grey war-time uniforms and by 1941 the black SS uniform had been taken out of circulation by most of the SS

The Luftwaffe was the aerial warfare branch (or air force) of the German Wehrmacht during World War 2. The figure model depicted is a Luftwaffe Airman (probably from the Field Division i.e. airbase and installation security, guard-duty, field defense, etc.).

"Kriegsmarine" (literally "War Navy") refers to the Navy of Nazi Germany from 1935 to 1945. The Navy also consists of ground based/infantry units like this figure model being depicted.

Unlike the Army, uniforms of the British Royal Navy did not undergo many wear changes through the war as the army. This seaman depicted is still wearing a 1914-1918 web equipment (in 1939).
