depends what u looking for. S5 some people think is too big u know not compact-but i like it!
I also keep reading G9 info recently...
From what I saw so far, G9 IQ is better than S5 in high ISO. G9 RAW image seem pretty impressive though I not quite understand what RAW mean..and its ISO800 is impressive as well. S5 is fun with big zoom..real fun cos can zoom near near to shot far far..But ISO above 200 is noticable noisy to me..
G5 is more portable then S5. For normal user, esply gal, who wish to have good IQ, I think G9 is great..
A650IS early production got some internal defect..A series is consider lower range to S and G series too..If I can re-buy a camera..I will consider either G9 or S5..

May I know what kind of external flash are you guys using for S5 IS? And which wide angle lens do you guys use? Does the camera allow manual focusing?

I'm using my 580EX for my S5. Wide angle lens? I'm using the original one by Canon but of cos u've to purchase the conversion lens adapter in order to screw in the lens. And yes, it has manual focusing but all are button operated and not like DSLR lenses.
Here's how the S5 looks with the wide-conversion lens.

I tried many shops last sat all shops out of stock incl Bally, 913 or 319 and AL..called MS but no stock! They intro me some 3rd party one but i dun feel secure to buying these..But i do believe lensmate.;p

Ya, just to share with all here ... most electronics chain stores in Singapore have price tags on their items but are at the same time opened for price nogotiations. Even if cannot get them to lower the price much, can negotiate for complementary freebies to make up :bsmilie:

Canon showroom at Vivo, next to golden village. They sell at RRP of S$58, and Snow is rite, elsewhere are get much cheaper, such as Alan and Bally. But if no one has stocks, and u really need it urgently, Canon showroom is an option. Call them at 6799-8888 before u go
