The manual suggest you attach the lens cap strap to the neck strap. I agree the design of the lens cap could be better as it really falls off really easy. Attaching to the neck strap has the disadvantage of situations when you want to take an initial quick shot as the dangling cap sometimes interferes with the shooting process.

What i did is to buy the converter lens adapter, put on a UV filter and get a 3rd party lens cap to cap it on.

The adapter for S5IS is available already? Where could we buy? How much did you pay for it?
thanks.

Yes. Here are 2 pics of it (without converter lens cos i don't have it). The first is without hood on while the next is with hood on. The set comes with hood. Got it for $48 at Bally Photo Funan. But do take note that once the hood is on, u cannot put the 58mm lens cap on.

the S5 sure looks good with the adapter set.. unlike the silver of the S2..

Does anybody know what the warranty in SGP is like? I found a shop in KL that was selling for about 635 SGD, standard package, 2gb card etc. Is there any difference if I buy in KL and here?

Warranty's international. From the sounds of it, KL's deal seems a lot better.

The filter can only be attached when the adapter is fixed on. The filter could provide some kind of protection to the lense, preventing it from being scratched. With the filter, you dont really have to worry about not putting on the lense cap. The adapter will also provide some protection for the protuding lense against accidental direct knocking.

BTW, Snoweagle, do you happen to have the WA addon as well? How is the result of the photo taken with it?
Thanks

Any 58mm 3rd party lens cap will fit on the adpater + filter.

Purpose of adapter is to fit filters as well as the WA lens and the Tele Lens.

Of course it will be bigger (WA) and longer (Tele).

Yes of cos it'll be bigger. If the wide-conversion lens is fixed on permanently, then don't need the filter at the adapter end.

Suggestion? I just get a simple no-brand 58mm cap to cap it on, as long as it serves its purpose and only costs $3.90. The UV filter is just to protect the main lens from any damage.

The LAH-LC20 is an adapter and hood set together and costs $48. Cap is separate at $3.90 and filter is Hoya SHMC at $28. I may plan to change to B+W.
