Hi guys,

I'm new here. Have a question regarding my S5. Can i take picture using ViewFinder then when picture taken, view the pic "Automatically" with the LCD display rather than pressing the DISP button to view the pic on LCD Display. I know some DSLR can do it but not sure if S5 have this function. Please advise as i've check through the manual doesn't show much. Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,
CalvinDarius

Of course you can. This is in fact the default setting for many compact cameras with LCD. You can set the camera to display the picture for x seconds after taking. Or you can switch to display mode to display the pictures and movies, using the switch next to the power on/off, not the display button. The display button is to toggle between LCD display on, display with settings, display off etc.

Thanks for the explaination but don't think you quite understand or i might not be clear, heres how:

If i take a picture using ViewFinder, once picture taken, can i AUTO review in my LCD Display Automatically without the need of switching to Play Mode or press DISP Button to view the picture taken? Because if you're in ViewFinder mode, even if you set Review - Example for 4 secs, it will only show u the review in the ViewFinder "if" you're in the VewFinder mode or vice versa.

Dear All,

I just bought my S5 IS Today! Hey! Its motivating to see the pics you took.. and I hope I had a good buy!

Anyway, i wanted to take Portraits with my new camera.

Can anyone here advise me how to start taking good ones using this S5? I hope to achieve the subject clear and the background blur effect... tried but its not nice at all..

Anybody can advise?

Cheers!

How much you bought and where did you buy it? I am planning to get one real soon. So now starting to do some "market survey" first. ;)

the adaptor +uv filter + raynox dcr-250?

You need the adapter. With or without the UV filter is fine. Depends on whether you have time to unscrew the UV filter.

Just checking:
You are using the EVF to take the picture.
You want it to display on the tilt/swivel LCD after the picture is taken.

As far as I know, this cannot be done.

dSLRs do not use a EVF, so there is no other 'place' to review the pictures.

Hmm.... wonder if the CDK firmware can do this for the S2/S3.

One way I could suggest is to set the review mode to "Hold". Close the lcd before taking your shot via the evf, open the lcd, the picture just taken will remain shown in the lcd until you half-press the shutter button.

need advice

i went to the fountain at bugis hopin to find some kids as models for photo takin.
but alas, all must b preparin for quatarly sem exam...
i took pics of the water fountain, but i realise tat i could not set low shutter speed without over-exposurin the pic..i set the aperture to f8.0, but still shutter speed can't go low for the water to be appear to b flowin and not freeze...
wat can i do?

U can either try again when the weather is less sunny, or u can get a ND filter to stop down the light. I use my CPL as an ND filter sometimes =p

Wats CPL?
How much wud a screw in ND filter cost? :dunno:

CPL = Circular PoLarising filter. From the filter prices thread, the Hoya ND4 should cost about $18. :)

so CPL better or ND lens???

i wan to cover a sch cross-country event, thinkin of snappin pics at low shutter for the action feel, will b in mornin till afternoon.
definitely need either ND or CPL...which is better?
