Hi Guys,

This is my first video clip of my company's Xmas party using D7000.
The first few secs and last few secs was taken using a canon handycam cos I wanted to use the stereo sound recorded on the handycam.
Clips on D7000 was shot using Sigma 24mm, with existing lights in the room.

Whole clip was edited using iMovie.

Pls give me some comments to help me improve.

Cheers...

looks good. seems like the D7000 doesnt register the flickering from florescent lamp (fr yr office)... worth getting... haha...

Actually, I find that D7000 is very fogiving for beginners...

I have read from the web that when shooting 24fps, my shutter speed should be at 1/50 secs... but when i was shooting this clip, I set everything in P mode, cos not sure on the shutter speed and aperture setting.

I think I need to steady my cam alot more, maybe with monopod... and also work on my manual focus. In this video more than 80% I am using the autofocus. That is why the focus search in most of the clips...

Anyway, I think shooting more is the keep to improve...

Cheers.

really nice.. i think the great moment was recorded is more important....at this first shoot

May I ask what program you used to compile the videos? Thanks.

I'm using iMovie, its a pre-install software on every Mac computer.

The good thing about using Mac with the D7000 movie file is that I can use it directly on iMovie, i don't have to convert to another version.

The .MOD from my Canon handycam needs to convert to another format if want to edit in iMovie or Adobe Premier on PC, so far only Movie Maker Live on PC can read .MOD files directly.

But then again, Windows Movie Maker is super boring, not much tools, just simple cut and joint, and add music....

Hi, bros.

What's a good freeware program to convert MOV files to AVIs that can be read with Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0?

I have use "Any Video Convertor" before, pretty ok, but you must know what you are converting, its not fool proof enough.
