My D80 failed to auto-focus...

I also face this problem yesterday. Was trying to focus but to my horror and 'F' sign for apecture keeps on blinking and the kit lens cant focus. I switch off the camera and on it for a few times and it finally works. The camera is still under warranty guess should send it to the NSC for a check up.
I think you are having the similar signs as mine in the inital stage (two months ago), and I though it is alright. But I am wrong...
U better send to NSC fast...because I have send-in on last Monday and they have no idea what went wrong...:dunno:
I just hope that I will able to get it back in time for my holiday trip in a month's time.:cry: ...and it would not break down during :sweat: my trip....

Till now (almost coming to 2 weeks), I have not collected my set D80....and till now they say "We still are working on it". This indirectly telling me they do not know the cause of failure....
What should I do? please advise... or anyone know anyone working in NSC?

Anyway, new lens doesn't mean always better than old one, especially only 1 month old

What is the RH setting in your dry cabinet? Try to set it between 45% and 50%. I used to have the same problem with my 18-200VR initially and a colleague's 18-135 also recently failed on his D80. But after he fiddled with it for a while, it started working again. Same symptoms as my 18-200 which happened to me a few times already. His RH was about 44%. Mine was previously 43%.
Now my 18-200 is still working fine after setting the RH to around 48%.
