Most current NEX lenses are not good enough for the NEX-7! SEASON 2!

You seems quite into IQ. You should have given the CV35F1.2II a test before buying the 35cron. Sharpness is similar, but F2 will not give you as creamy bokeh as the CV35F1.2II or even your CV35F1.7.

Even the Zeiss 35mm F2 will be a better choice with better price. Unless you are a Leica fanboy like me.... hahaha....

Yeah... kena poisoned by lotza ppl here... LOL... I would haf went for the CV 35-1.2 ASPH 2... But really put off by d weight, no offence to CSers owning one... Just personal preference. I am just buying this to play around it till I save up enuff for the Lux 35-1.4 ASPH FLE... Should be by next year before CNY... At least I get to play wif d Cron for the next few months... Leica all d way!!! D new M body is so tempting...

Go for a 50mm Summilux F1.4 ASPH. You won't regret it. In fact, it is my only Leica lens left as it is the best.

Alternatively, try Zeiss, especially 50mm F2 version vs F1.5. Voigtlander 50mm F1.1 not as sharp.

Konica M Hexanon 50-1.2 Limited Edition? Seems very ex...

Yeah... just read that... Lux killer ya d V2? Seriously if CV can make it much smaller, will be totally sold... I sort of used to the weight and size of the CV 35-1.7 ASPH and really not looking forward to a bigger lens for street shooting...

Actually, if you compare the IQ of the CV vs the latest Leica 35lux FLE, it is not really very large. To make a lens as good as a 35lux is not easy, especially that the CV35 does not have a floating element yet still as sharp. Perhaps the 3 asph elements really helped, but needed a lot more glasses to make it as good as the 35lux FLE.

Sold my 35lux FLE as finds it over-priced as compared to the CV35 which is about the same in IQ. Just a little smaller but costs 5times more.

So u sold off yr FLE and keep d CV 35-1.2 V2? Wow... At least U still haf d Lux 50 ASPH... Saw some post selling average 5k... If CV comes out a CV 50-1.2 ASPH that almost can equal to yr Lux 50 ASPH but even much bigger, U will also sell off yr LUX 50 ASPH if it's 5 times cheaper?

Frankly, if Voigtlander or Zeiss can come out with a lens that is as good as 50lux and yet cheaper by 5times, why not?

The problem is that it is very difficult to make it as good..... Tried Voigtlander 50mm F1.1 and Zeiss 50mm F1.5, no way nearly as good as 50lux.

Pragmatic lens buyer. Haha. Well. I think it's a very sensible approach.

where's ur cron pic~ no poison for us? :bsmilie:

Just did some test shot with it @ China Town at nitez as I just got it today in the afternoon. Will post some the day shots later on... Dun think it's poisonous enuff for u, bro but it's a solid little toy. LOL...

Gd nitez... Haf a great Sunday ahead, guys...

Often with focus shift on RF, though on Nex, that's perfectly fine, but that's not the point... there's other alternative options, like for e.g. the canon 50mm f1.2 ltm :)

Any Bokeh review between these 2?

Gd morning bro. Maybe I should just switch to X-E1 once and for all? All these purple fringing is really irritating. LOL. Not to mention d stupid video button. Watz wrong wif Sony?

Pray next NEX fix all the issues

Even d new NEX 5R n NEX 6 is having purple cast issues wif a ultra wide angle E Mount from Sony. So weird. Their own lens. Faintz. Can imagine CV15-4 wide heliar will b worse on those new NEX bodies.

For the sample photos from the 10-18mm linked from SAR, the reviewer mentioned that he'd only had use of the lens for a few minutes, and that he wasn't sure whether it was a pre-production copy or not. In addition to mild color casting, the corner crops showed an absurd amount of CA.

Various pundits correctly assert that this type of CA is fixable in LR. But what they fail to mention is that when CA exceeds a certain pixel width, some contrasting edges are left with a black stripe, which can totally ruin some images.

After reading what the reviewer wrote, I'll suspend judgment on this lens until it's in a store where I can try it out myself. Given the announced price point (and size) of this lens, I expect some compromises. But ya gotta give Sony credit for turning out usable lenses at affordable prices.

Someone mentioned the CV 15mm on NEX . . . rather than bitch and moan about the magenta cast on the 7, I got a 5n w/EVF for my wides. If I point the 5n and CV 15mm at a brightly-lit sky (which I wouldn't do in normal shooting), I can see a bit of magenta. But in normal shooting, I don't see any magenta casting on any of my wides. Corners are sharper than on the 7, too.

Im considering the use of a la ea2 and tokina 11-16 or sigma 10-20 or sony sal uwa. Wonder whether the short flange distance is part of the cause and the use of the adaptor will help correct this? Things is sony sel 10-18 is about 300g. la ea2 + uwa lens is about 650 to 750g, more than twice the weight.
