Well its not bad considering that its free and you dont need to buy and calibration equiptment. Of course to get more accurate results one may decide to buy one. Just letting ppl know that if they have a Viewsonic monitor there is that option.

A word of advise, leave your monitor on at least 30 minutes before calibration (not in standby mode).

Managed to get my device before 7pm! Finally met up with Ben as well.
I had just calibrate the monitor of mine and yes I do take note of the 30min warm up of monitor and no screen saver. I got dual monitor, so I kept moving my mouse at the other monitor.
I used the Auto Calibration earlier on, had not tried on Advance yet since its getting late now. And also, the software I got from the CD-Rom is Eye-One Match 3. Thanks for the helpful info too!
Im currently using 2 x Samsung SyncMaster 793DF CRT. :sweatsm:
What is the point of buying the Eye-One Display 2 when you are not using the advance mode?
FYI, the best time to calibrate your monitor is night time. There are several good reasons to this.
BTW, do you use a Matrox graphic card to run dual monitor? Can your graphic card support dual profiles?

Haben got time to do Advance as its gettting too late. I will try it tonight. Will do it at night cause no other light source to 'interfere' i1 working. lol
Im currently using Powercolor XT1600 PRO, so I think it can support dual profiles as I tried yesterday.
I tried using advance mode in office and yet I got weird White Point. I did watched the tutorial regarding the use of advance mode. I chose 6500k for the White Point at first. Next I went on until the RGB stage. RGB stage had Preset and Control. As Im using lousy IBM computer, I only have R and B to change without G. So, I used RGB Preset.
After I clicked start on RGB Preset, I tried to mix and match the illuminate as shown on the graph; Current and Target. I tried to match till 100 if I can by turning down the Contrast by using the computer OSD. And of course, before this, the Help tips told me to select 9500k shown on the screen if I had it on my OSD. Thus, I select 9500k.
Next, after I done that, I click on NEXT. It went on calibration showing the colors on the screen. However, halfway through the picture was seen perfectly ok suddenly turn to warm white?! I don't get it man! Until the end of the calibration, the summary said it was calibrated and also mention it match almost the targeted set by Eye One. However, the result doesn't seem to please it..
I do not know why it become like this. Really need some help why it become like this.

If you're used to 9500K kind of white, then 6500K white may appear warm to you since the calibration target is 6500K, isn't it?
For photography and graphics applications, I suggest you choose 5,000K~5,500K as your white point.
I don't think your Powercolor graphics card support dual profiles. I have already checked the Powercolor website. Currently, the only graphic card in the market that support this feature comes from Matrox.

I tired using 5000k as my white point, but after the calibration, it became yellowish. And confirm not even white. More of like sepia on my screen, thats why I use Native White.
As for the RGB, I used RGB control and tried controlling it by the RG. Under that, I should try to make the RGB to the centre or putting it near to the respective Target like 5000k and Luminate of 100? After that all this had been done, I click right, the calibration start by showing different colors, thats when it turn yellowish half way thru. Even thou it mentioned that it had been calibrated, e overall result is still yellowish.
Just realise it auto set for my second monitor icc profile so you are right abt it. As I want to play games, I think I wouldnt take Matrox. Just use one monitor for processing. :angel:
So you are a gamer.... In such a case, it is pointless for me to tell you to set your white point to 5,000K. I thought you are a serious DI artist. In fact, you should not have spend all that money buying an Eye-One Display 2. A Huey will work fine for gaming and normal photo viewing.
Also, Matrox graphic cards are definitely not your cup of tea.

Your eyes will slowly adjust to the yellowish tint. If you stick to native white, your monitor will NOT be color accurate.
Regardless.... It is totally up to you. After all, you don't need a color accurate monitor to play games.
