Monitor Calibrator

it's a matter of how badly you want the colour to be perfect...and how perfect you want it to be...

for most of us, just taking a chance on a printer printing a reasonably good image for us is usually good enough...if not happy with the print, just ask the printer to adjust it by abit here, abit there and that is good enough...and of course getting the monitor colour right is also a good thing to have...

what I described is for the very picky, who want colour to be perfect...I used to work for someone who was like that...but that is commercial photography...abit extreme...in fact, that is not all and for colour critical images, I have to go down to the printer's and supervise the print and sometimes kick the printers a$@ to get the colours done right...;p

Sorry to dig up the thread, I'm trying to get a calibrator. It'd be either the Eye-One Display 2 or the Monaco Optix XR Pro. Can anyone point me to the right direction on where I can get it locally?

How much does the bundle for Eye-One D2, together with printer calibration cost?

hi there. I understand that Pantone has released a new product called HueyPRO which is supposed to be the pro version of the Huey. Has anybody used it yet? and based on the performance of the Huey, does anybody think this will be good? or how about the Eye-One Display LT? i'm on a budget and can't really afford the Eye-One Display 2

Sigh.. no one carries ready stock anymore? Shops in SG is pathetic... Might as well order myself online if I need one.. Why should I pay someone else to be just a postman?

followed the thread and went to amazon. Realise they have 2 eye-one display 2 calibrators on sale with different packaging and price.

http://www.amazon.com/GRETAGMACBETH...6?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1176120707&sr=8-1

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...rd_t=201&pf_rd_p=250314601&pf_rd_i=B0007ZGCT6

any difference besides price?? :dunno:

I believe there is no technical difference between the two other than the logos on the devices. I bought the Pantone version.

If in doubt you can look up this website where the reviewer reviewed both the GM version and the Pantone one as well as the Spyders.

anyone has or tried out the eye-one display LT?

According to the gmb website, it is the same sensor as the display2 and can be upgraded by software.

sounds enticing but dunno if singapore have.

i just bought a new Samsung LCD... it came along with a software called Magictune which supposely calibrate the monitor.... does anyone know if this is good enough??
