Whenever the host introduces the girls at those events like Miss World, Universe etc.., they Always says "The worlds most beautiful" women.. etc etc..
So, it's very clear what should matters most in the pageant.. looks..
Why make the pageant so complicated and put so much emphasis on the contestants' wit, speech, talent etc..
Yes they can make the contest more interesting but Looks should always be the first priority when judging the contestants. It's the minimum requirement. Not necessary a pretty face, but grace, elegance, poses etc.. all contribute to looks. When all the contestants have the "looks", then the other attribute can set them apart and stand out among the rest. But w/o the looks, all the other talents seems meaningless to the contest/show..
If all the other attributes are so important, then they should change the phrase to "the worlds most outstanding (or whatever) women..", and don't use the word "beautiful"..
