Seriously. Do you guys ever spare a thought of what if there's foreigners here reading all these threads and replies?

1) Ugly contestants
2) Ugly judges
3) Ugly Singaporeans ... hmmm

And that includes me as well coz I post this reply. I think TS started this thread to showcase his works or rather highlight the events that happened @ Safra Mount Faber but no one talk about the photos IQ.

But whatever it is, Singaporean always have a lot to say. And, I think if we got nothing good to say, then its good to say nothing.

Win Olympic GOLD got $1 million
If win Miss Universe or Miss World got $1 million.....

I'm sure ladies with much better standard will emerge.

If not, we will just keep getting :thumbsd:

paranoid u are so right..when our GOV agencies are not even interested..

how will the gals step forward and when SQ and Model Agencies already booked most of our tall beauties..where to find the rest??

and when u progressed further in this competition..esp SQ..they will not be forgiving to allow the gals to come for events, like grooming classes, fitting n rehearsals..

and even if u win, i think there are clauses saying tat being a SQ gal and Beauty queen don't mix.

so..how? Catch-22..no good prizes, no GOV support, no media coverage, all the best gals got cornered..

what is left??

I beg ur pardon. Pls kindly see if the current SQ Gals are up to expectation. None has the looks or even the height. SQ gals are being make a mockery in lots of airliners forum.

Well said!!:))

One past winner of the Ms Singapore Universe Pageant was a lawyer and the Ms Singapore
World 2008 winner was a 1st Class Honours graduate. The current list of Ms Singapore
Universe 2010 pageant contestants has a mixed of students, models, flight attendant, a lawyer and even a trainee fighter pilot and to say that 'it looks if these girls were just
picked off from the streets' is truely a berating and duely unfair statement.

Everyone of us has aspirtaions so is it wrong for these ladies to aspire to be a Ms Singapore
Universe/World to represent our tiny little red dot on the international arena of beauty contests. Every country have their own beauties to represent them in pageants
and not all are winners. There is always an outstanding one among the many who will win.

But the essence of it all is the spirit of participation,to know and meet new friends across
the globe and the most imprtant thing is that the ladies have the courage to parade
in front of a large audience no matter how they look and give their best.

So do give them the due diligence and respect that they deserve.

So are you going to come out this Amt?? LMAO!!!
This Biz is not something you can understand!!

Seriously speaking...a Miss Universe will not emerge from Singapore shores for a very long time to come unless some scientist change the genes of our people. Our genes just don't produce facial features and body type of those that will rival that of the other countries. Just go and roam the streets of Europe, America, Latin America, China, Russia, Middle East etc.

But does it mean that our girls should be deprived a chance to participate? If you cannot score being the 1st in class, does it mean you should forego your education? There are other opportunities that will come along with such an exposure...whether it is a commercial, a modeling career, or even getting to know a rich man. These girls may end up better off than the average man on the streets.

My opinions of beauty pageants are that they are a throw back to the old days. I find "beauty" pageants rather demeaning to women, because the reality is, no matter how they try to cover up the fact with the contestants' careers and education, these pageants are just a meat show to display which country has the hottest chicks. ;(

agree with this.. after all, it is a beauty pageant, isn't it? so looks should be of reasonable minimum standard, then other qualities, if any.

If it is a "talent" pageant.., then looks maybe can be of secondary or no importance. Like the Singapore idol or American idol, no one really care as much about their looks.. bcoz it is not a "beauty" pageant after all.

It doesn't matters, whether there is a lawyer or trainee fighter pilot among them, we are not going for aerial dogfight here.

i 'm losing faith in the pageant ....

I feel like Im standing at the main entrance of "Jurassic Park" .

who's this lil' lady? just my cup of tea...

reminds me of someone i once met.. during an army event.. sigh.. long story..

this contest only those who self claim they are good looking or whatever they think of themselves...
i have to say sorry for this but this however doesnt make our Singapore looks better...

This is the one of the most interesting threads I ever read .. damn funny :bsmilie:

Fully agree with you. The most important thing is that these ladies DARE to try.As Singaporeans should we
berate and look down on fellow Singaporeans ?
