Some of them are nice people. Don't know them personally. Just happened to talk to some of them there.
Tekka Market is nothing ... Sungei Road even Better, yr eyes will become like this guy ...
ya leh, there are indeed a few gems here, ... the necklaces, the Bentley, ...:dunno:u guys are blind?
there a few gems among them
These is not a charity show and they dont have to be nice......NONE has the quality to even represent a beauty pigeon. Totally a disgrace.
Most of these ppl pay to enter these contest to gain publicity. Cheap n faster way will be under table with most of the judges.
I dont blame them, I blame the organisation for the quality they screen!
To be blunt, it looks as if these girls were just picked off from the streets.
Just pick off someone off the streets also can find better looking gals.
Even if they got brain also no use. First impression still matter...
Singapore beauty pageants is definitely not something I can be proud of, in front of my international friends/colleagues.
India & China also can come up w/ world class contestants.
But where does the grooming comes from, if there is any,
for these Miss Singapore Universe contestants ?
To be blunt, it looks as if these girls were just picked off from the streets.
Why the judging panel is still not up to the mark, after the whole 'Riz Low' joke ?
One past winner of the Ms Singapore Universe Pageant was a lawyer and the Ms Singapore
World 2008 winner was a 1st Class Honours graduate. The current list of Ms Singapore
Universe 2010 pageant contestants has a mixed of students, models, flight attendant, a lawyer and even a trainee fighter pilot and to say that 'it looks if these girls were just
picked off from the streets' is truely a berating and duely unfair statement.
Everyone of us has aspirtaions so is it wrong for these ladies to aspire to be a Ms Singapore
Universe/World to represent our tiny little red dot on the international arena of beauty contests. Every country have their own beauties to represent them in pageants
and not all are winners. There is always an outstanding one among the many who will win.
But the essence of it all is the spirit of participation,to know and meet new friends across
the globe and the most imprtant thing is that the ladies have the courage to parade
in front of a large audience no matter how they look and give their best.
So do give them the due diligence and respect that they deserve.
It doesn't matters, whether there is a lawyer or trainee fighter pilot among them, we are not going for aerial dogfight here.
Important qualities for this kind of pageant, is you must possess the unique charm/beauty that will make people head turn for minimum 2-3 times.
Especially, you will be swimming in a sea of international beauties, can you stand out ?
For this kind of international competition, aspirations alone is definitely not enough,
the winning qualities must be there too.
Had the local judges judging standard align with the international standard ?
Choose the right people to do the right job
Guess we had enough of world peace or just to meet more friends
Remember, the ultimate goal in a competition is to win, nothing less or you are just wasting everybody time & resources !
So what matters most in International Pageants is that one must possess the unique charm
and beauty perhaps throw in a very good figure that will make people in this case the panel
of judges head turn 2 -3 times. Then I empathise with the judges coz they will have to
turn their heads 2-3 times x 80 contestants or more and their poor necks !
In any International Pageants one of the most critical segment of the competition is the
Q&A. This is usually the make or break segment for the contestants. Unique charm and
beauty alone will not stand in good stead for the contestants and this is where the brains come into play.
Anyway it's your perogative that there's enough of world peace or just to meet more
friends. Just go fiqure it out.
If you fail to understand 'turn heads' as a idiom, what can I say :dunno:
Kindly go & check it out..
Which segment of the competition is not critical ? :dunno:
Please scroll up to see my thread that I mentioned
'For this kind of competition, beauty must be both from interior & exterior.. '
Btw, it is 'prerogative', not perogative
I have stated my points here and guess that you have no knowlegde of the
the process of what's going on in Beauty Pageants and to agrue just for the sake
of it good for you.
Anyway I will not be drawn into this folly debate and as what Gary Oldman said
'I've no time for this mickey mouse bulls..t'.
