ClubSNAP Celebrates her 10th Anniversary
with Free Community Programmes
for all Avid Photographers on 21st & 22nd Apr 2012
at Singapore Art Museum



Singapore, 16 Apr, 2012

Singapore’s largest online photography community and forum with over 180,00 registered users, “ClubSNAP” will be celebrating its 10th Anniversary at Singapore Art Muesum from the evening of 20th Apr to 22 Apr 2012.

The event will kick off with a Opening Dinner at Singapore Art Museum on 20 Apr evening, with Minister of State for National Development and Manpower, Mr Tan Chuan-Jin as the Guest of Honour.

This will be followed by a total of 21 photo talks and workshops and 3 Photowalks on 21 Apr (Sat) and 22nd Apr (Sun) for its members and also the public. This is part of ClubSNAP’s contributions to the community to promote Photography and the Arts.

Talks by international as well as SE Asian and local renowned Photographers include, Geoff Ang, Yadi Yasin (Indonesia’s top landscape Photographer), Stephen Loh (Singapore Top Wedding Photographer), Albert Chua, Zhuang WuBin, Darren Soh, John Arifin, Aik Beng Chia (iPhoneography aka pixelmunky) and many others

This event has also attract many photography enthusiasts from the our neighbouring contries to join in the coming weekend activites.

ABOUT CLUBSNAP


ClubSNAP was formed on 17 Jan 2002, today it has 180,000 registered users and an active and lively community both online and in actual gatherings and activities

In 2006, ClubSNAP was singled out for special mention during PM Lee Hsien Loong's National Day Rally speech; "But the web is not just for individuals and for blogs. It's also for communities to gather, for people to share interests to work to get to, to exchange with one another, to pursue their passions together. So the next picture shows you one such website. It's Clubsnap. It's a photograph, photography website for enthusiasts to critique one another's work, to organise activities and to share and display their successes. Very popular."

6 years on (2012) ClubSNAP is stilll as popular and is also staying relevant in this fast changing world, it has presence in facebook and also mobile Apps.

ClubSNAP has has also grow regionally and have very close and strong tie-up with other regional forum, and participate actively in the annual "Crossing Bridges" phototrips in this region. "Crossing Bridges" is an annual photography shooting, friend-making, networking outing lasting 7 intense days among photography communities around the region, mainly :

We will be seeing 2 More countries, Sri Lanka and South Korea joining the Crossing Bridges grouping by year end.

As a responsible community, in 2004, ClubSNAP members initiated the first of the fundraising activity called PhotoAid to raise funds for major disaster relief in our neighboring countries. The 1st PhotoAid project was for Indonesia Tsunami Relief over 3 weekends. The 2nd PhotoAid Disaster Charity Drive was conduct in 2008 for victims of Cyclone Nagis in Myanmar. And recently on Mar 2011, the Photo Charity Drive "Ganbatte Japan" raised $34,000 for Mercy Relief’s effort in Japan.
