Sure, but if you have followed this thread you know that Sony will not make announcements about DSLR until the summer ...

Alright, PMA is for that as well, absolutely ! Nevertheless, against better knowing, I still hope Sony comes out of the closet after all, announcing the long awaited 'A800' saying that they did not want to notify the competition any time earlier ... woooohaaaaa !! :bsmilie:

Now THAT would really make my week ... ;p

Hmmm...

(1) Super Telephoto Lens
Sound good, 400 f4.5 or 600 f4?

(2) DT 50mm F1.8
Can't understand why they make this a DT lens. Canon has already got a FF 50 F1.8 for $100+ only. How much more Sony can save by making this an APS-C one?

(3) DT 30mm F2.8 Macro
Can't seem to find any application for this really...

(4) DT 18-55mm F3.5-5.6
I was expecting a 16-something kit lens :(

(5) DT 55-200mm F4-5.6
Rebadge the lens they intro last year???

(6) 28-75mm F2.8
Sounds like a rebadged Tamron. Where the hell is our 24-105 f4 G???

The new lens lineup is disasspointing.... but.. by not poisoning us, Sony is helping us save money in times like this.. :bsmilie:

The new bridge looks a lot more interesting than the lens line up. 10fps, 6 frame auto bracketing, WOW!

Looks like they introduce consumer grade SSM at last, sweet!

Yaaa ..! New Lenses .. ! :confused::confused:

Thanks Sony ... but not really.

Yes man, for all you know, these new lens are launched in preparation of AF Video capability in new bodies coming soon???
so that must be the reason behind ssm, slient AF for video on dslr ;p

Quite highly possible...since i find no reason to put motor in the lens, esp these are considered "low-end" ones....

Unless Sony is going towards Nikon's way of removing in-body motors like D40/D60, which will be bad....

If not, AF Video should be the next upcoming features for new bodies, if you can see almost all the new PNS cameras introduced by Sony and other brands already include at least a 720p video capability, while Lumix G1 has just been updated to GH1 with full 1080p video.

Sony's HX1 also has HD video recording, so I think it shouldn't be long before we see Alpha DSLR with video coming real soon...

Many people will say they do not need video for DSLR, but who doesn't want extra features right?

More then you can imagine, I'd rather see improved photographic technologies then a feature for which I normally would use another device. (Not even to mention all those photographers not even having the slightest interest for it.) Ultimately it leads to paying for something you don't want / or asked for, similar like a mobile phone.

I can remember someone demonstrating all kind of functions on a mobile and after 5 minutes or so I asked him, 'all very nice, can you make phonecalls as well?' I guess you get the point.

Well, I understand it is manufacturing for the mass, so who am I.
