Back To The City

That's all from me. The outing sure was brief...

Haha Baracus nice composition and titles
you should be a poet instead:thumbsup:

Wow! Well done guys, all of you got so many excellent photos. Don't think I'd have many to post after seeing what's been posted already. I spent more time chatting w/ guys instead of shooting :(

Can't comment on each and every photo, but I really like most photos posted so far. I can see everyone has different views for the same scene, and I really love that. Looking through this thread is like going back to that place again. Actually I'm thinking of going back again someday so I can take some photos as good as what you guys got here.

We've had quite some outings since we started nearly 2 years ago, but imo this time we've seen some best photos from all of our outings so far :)

Oh btw, my son has been sick (fever, bad stomach) since yesterday, I haven't looked at my photos except the two group shots I posted earlier. Got a busy week ahead, hopefully I can post some of mine soon.

Cheers!

FW, hope your son recovers soon!

And I agree about the quality of the shots.. many are publication-worthy! Not only on this thread, but on the main photo threads too.

And hey, why not a local Pentax best of annual photography book? Lots of great photos by you all out there; I'm sure it can sell.. among ourselves at least :P Can also use the online photo book service to do this up!

If not hardcopy, can at least do a PDF version.

Will make a good showcase for Pentax, ourselves and as a keepsake!

I have to say the place is not a very big compound but provide plenty of subjects to shoot, one can simply shoot landscape, macro or animal portraits etc... It has allow us to do our shooting, join in others to shoot together and interact with each other just within a few steps. I believe all who attended have a fun and enjoyable outing.:)

Haha. But I can't compose poems for squat. That's why I compose pictures instead.

He has the dress sense down pat. Got to love that beret..

lurve that ultra retro glasses that he has as well.

Because it's convenient.
Beret = No need to style my hair.
Big glasses = UWA perspective.

True. The different perspectives does show everyone's interest in their chosen style. Sharing tips is a welcome addition. Looking forward to seeing more new faces with every outing. :D

On another note, I'd post more pics, but I've reached my upload limit for the month.

hi guys, just wanna check whether is this considered a closd-up or macros?

pictures are a bit small, but i think this isn't 1:1 so it's technically not macro. but if you have the resolution to spare you can crop it heavily instead of buying a macro lens?

.... And Denis (Creampuff), you are simply 1 of the masters I am certainly learning from... your eye for a shot is always immaculately timed!

Please lah, I am no better than anyone else here. You making me sweat leh

Baracus, very nice treatment to your pictures and the titles are so apt.
Your pictures are like a photo essay of the place.
Like the green series, the teddy bears and the rusty zinc sheeting.

sorry about that... i didnt really know how to upload big pictures like you guys... however i was using the sigma 1670 macros lens and i was real close to them... so what is the missing link?

sorry i can't help you with the clubsnap gallery as i'm using photobucket to host my photos.. all i can advise is to try photobucket out :bsmilie:

sigma 17-70? that lens goes to 1:2.3 so it's not a real macro lens per se. a lot of manufacturers like to label their zoom lenses "macro" even though they don't reach 1:1 magnification.

it's still good enough for most close-up stuff (even my tamron 17-50 that only does 1:4.5 does fine for most abstract/still-life close-up stuff) but for really small insects you may not have sufficient magnification, or your working distance is too close and you scare them away.

Hi
You can resgister and account with photobucket.com and upload the photos there.
Re-size them to around 1280x1024 or 1024x768 before uploading them.
Then select your photo and right click "copy image location" and paste it using the following switch
. The photos should show here. Make sur to delete the parts behind until you reach the ".jpg" portion.
cheers

yes, very important to resize before uploading to photobucket! if PB downsizes the photo for you it will look terrible.

actually photobucket has a function for you to click on a text box and it automatically copies the IMG code onto the clipboard for you. then just paste it directly into the reply box.. quick & easy

If I'm not wrong, for ClubSnap Gallery you can click on the pic itself to view it at full size on a pop up screen, then right-click and copy the link to the pic from there. Or else click on the small clipboard icon at the bottom right of the "photo details" box, and use the link given under "direct link" to get a scaled down version.

But yah, subscribe to other proper image hosting service for regular photo uploads lah. The CS Gallery is clearly not something you want to rely on for large volume, and the file size limit is really restrictive. It's more meant for the one or two random pics you might want to put up occasionally.

yeah i am using the photobucket as recommended for the kind souls of pentaxian... unfortunately i think i resize a little bit too large as compare to others haha... i wonder what size are they using?
