ROONEY MISSES EINDHOVEN TRIP BUT YOUNG DUO ARE INCLUDED

Manchester United skipper Wayne Rooney has missed the trip to PSV Eindhoven with the injury he sustained in training ahead of Saturday's 3-1 win over Liverpool.

As expected, the striker is not being rushed back for the UEFA Champions League group stage opener in Holland, although manager Louis van Gaal did hope to have him available for Sunday's Barclays Premier League clash at Southampton, when speaking at the weekend.

Youngsters James Wilson and Andreas Pereira, who was signed from PSV, have both been added to the 18-man squad that was on duty against Liverpool at Old Trafford. Pereira suffered an injury while away with Brazil's Under-23 side but is fit for selection again.

United's travelling squad: David De Gea, Sergio Romero; Daley Blind, Matteo Darmian, Paddy McNair, Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling, Antonio Valencia; Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera, Andreas Pereira, Morgan Schneiderlin, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Juan Mata, Ashley Young; Memphis Depay, Marouane Fellaini, Anthony Martial, James Wilson.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has sent scouts to cast an eye over promising Heerenveen defender Jeremiah St Juste, according to reports.

Scouting mission

Manchester United officials want Pep Guardiola to replace Louis van Gaal.

The United hierarchy are already searching for a replacement for when Van Gaal leaves in 2017.
LvG had been grooming his assistant manager Ryan Giggs for the role but United officials have other ideas, according to the Mirror.
They want to employ current Bayern Munich coach Guardiola to continue the work that Van Gaal has begun.
The former Barcelona boss is refusing to sign a new deal with the German giants and is planning to leave the club at the end of the season.

In search for replacement

Here we go!
At the back for United, it's Rojo on the left and Blind in the middle.

13min - Southampton 1 United 0. Pelle knocks in the rebound after De Gea does well to stop Mane's initial effort.

Wa .. 7early 8early

I wonder if LVG will get sacked soon.

His record is potentially worse than Moyes's..
Yet he has spent so so much more than Moyes..

United has been passing the ball aimlessly around..

34min- Southampton 1 United 1. Anthony Martial scores!

Hope we dun give the Saints a chance back into the game.. It seems a substitution is on the cards during halftime.. LVG is clearly unhappy with someone..

50' - GOAL!!!!!! Southampton 1 United 2. Martial with his second.
Martial latches onto a poor backpass and makes Southampton pay with another cool finish.

68' - GOAL!!! Southampton 1 United 3. Juan Mata finds the net!

Mata pounced with a first-time effort after Memphis' shot had struck the post and come back out to the Spaniard.

Now we are no.2 n 2pts behind leaders!
