Haha Messi. Hard to get him Barca will hang on to him. Maybe ask Heinze to psycho him. :bsmilie:

Tevez will be complicated. Dunno who owns him. WestHam or some coy.

Solskjaer reveals retirement plan

Manchester United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he is likely to retire at the end of next season.

The 34-year-old intends to see out his current contract with United, which runs until June 2008.

But when asked if he could see a future beyond next season, Solskjaer told Norwegian newspaper VG: "No.

"I'll most likely stay at United. I've one year left on my contract and I'm aiming to do as well as possible to carry on."

Sad to see him retire but his time has come. Really a great striker.

 awwwwwww my fav striker

so sad.....to me, he's what good strikers and soccer players should be.

keeps his ego in check, just does the job, a small wryful smile for banging in the crucial goals..... the "BABY FACE ASSASIN"!!!

sigh.......hope he can be taken into the coacing role by SAF and teach some tricks or 2 to the upcoming strikers!

Don't cry, bro Soong, I thought you are missing out on your wine. lol. Yeah, he's one of the favourites among the fans. Who could forget the huge role he played in bringing back the CL title to OT. As for taking up coaching, I have my reservation. A good player may not necessarily make a good coach and a good coach might not had been a good player in his playing days. A lot of tricks cannot be taught and it came about only thru years of playing and horning their skills.

He is already a coach at Man Utd. Helping the youth team. His current 2 year deal is part playing, part coaching. But as for manager, I dunno unless he is another amazing Roy Keane.

Sunderland is now 4pts clear at the top. Unbeaten in 2007, best GD in their league and have 16 different scorers. Familar? :bsmilie:

Injured Vidic to resume training
Injury-hit Manchester United could be boosted by the return of Nemanja Vidic before the end of the season.

Rooney is sued by Moyes over book :o
England footballer Wayne Rooney is being sued by ex-manager David Moyes over comments made in the striker's autobiography "My Story So Far".

Keane calm despite promotion talk
Sunderland manager Roy Keane has warned his side to concentrate on extending their winning run this weekend.

FA explains Cup ticket allocation

That dumb English FA does it again! 25,000 each to Man Utd and Chelsea only. Wah lao, Wembley at 90,000 should allocate 35,000 to each club! 25,000 is like.....1/3 of Old Trafford only! The remaining 40,000 that went to 'others' is a farce!

Players enjoying the pressure:

Sir Alex Ferguson says his United side are revelling in the twists and turns of this season's Premiership title race.

With Chelsea trailing the Reds by three points and just five games remaining, the season is well and truly down to its make-or-break stage.

While the Gaffer has been through such nervy periods before during his time at Old Trafford, he is delighted that his players are also thriving on having little margin for error.

"You've always got to enjoy this part of the game," he told his weekly press conference. "We're involved in everything, which is terrific.

"More importantly I think the players are enjoying it, that's the best thing for me and I'm enjoying watching them. I'm happy with their form. I think they're continuing to show great confidence and expression in their play.

"Over the years, it doesn't matter which team has won the league, there have always been moments of nervousness, but they seem to be enjoying it."

Although United are still fighting on three major fronts, Sir Alex admits he would be content just to regain the Premiership title.

You start the season hoping to win a major trophy," he said. "We could win one of them, with an immense amount of luck we could win three. But if we win the league I'd be quite happy with that.

"Any time I've done well, we've always had a bit of luck. The luck we need now is to keep this group fit for the rest of the season, if we do that we have a real big chance.

"I know Jose was praying we get injuries and we got them, so we've done him a real favour that way. Hopefully there's no more."

The Gaffer feels Chelsea have been taken aback by having to chase United all season, rather than lead from the front as in the last two seasons.

"I couldn't ask for a better position, to be honest," he said. "I think Chelsea maybe expected us to be on their tails this season.

"Maybe they expected us to be their main challengers, Jose Mourinho said that early on, so we've turned that round and have them chasing us.

"They have to win their games and we're exactly the same. The table shows that the consistency of us has been terrific, we're three points clear with a massive goal difference.

"The simple fact is that Chelsea had set the benchmark quite high for us, and we've had to match that or beat it to make sure we win the league."

Boss: Saha needs to be sure

Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that Louis Saha's ongoing absence will only end once the striker is completely free of lingering injury doubts.

The French striker's United career had been blighted by knocks until the start of the 2006/07 season, when his sustained run in the team prompted regular goalscoring form.

However, a recurrent hamstring injury has restricted Saha to just four starts this calendar year, and Sir Alex admits Louis is understandably keen to be in optimum condition before returning for the season's run-in.

"We feel he's back, it's just the confidence to make sure he feels right," said Sir Alex. "Louis in his own mind has got to feel 100 percent fit.

"He just felt his hamstring a bit after the game against Roma over there when he came on as a substitute. In training the next day he felt it a little bit. I think there's a cautious approach, that he wants to feel 100 percent fit."
