Man Utd 2-0 Sheffield Utd.

Easy win but passing was not the best. Got lots of chances but Sheffield Utd defended very well. Made a lot of last ditch tackles/blocks and saves. Carrick and Rooney's goals are very nice.

Evra got injured and had to sub off. Unbelievable! When I tot he is coming back into the team, he is off again! Dunno the extend of his injuries but it doesn't look that serious. Entire backline out injured. Credit to Fergie, he doesn't complain and goes about fixing the defence. Man Utd's defence is now patched here and there and everywhere. :sweat:

I think Morten Gamst Pedersen and M.Owen dun make good signings. They will make good squad players but not 1st teamers I guess. Gamst Pedersen dun seem to fit into Man Utd and M.Owen's game is based on speed and at 27, he is nearing his twilight zone and we dun really need another Saha!

If Nani is like/similar to Ronaldo, then I will prefer him to Gamst Pedersen. As for striker, I think Klaas-Jan Huntelaar will make a good signing. I think he will be better than Torres and cheaper than D. Villa.

Yah they quite poor thing. If u read that article, they have to really scrimp and save. The club can only afford to pay petrol $$$ to its players. Not even a single cent for transfers. Even S League clubs are much richer! If Roman will to give them 1M, it will sustain them for many decades!

Yes i think Ribery suits Man Utd's style. He can play left back and attack. Thats what SAF like and Evra has the edge over Heinze in this aspect.

Kaka: We don't fear Reds

AC Milan midfielder Kaka insists he and his team-mates have nothing to fear ahead of their Champions League semi-final clash with United.

The Italians travel to Old Trafford next Tuesday for the first leg, before entertaining the Reds at the San Siro eight days later.

United may have trounced Roma 7-1 in the last round, but Kaka believes Milan's record in the competition will stand them in good stead for the tie.

"Manchester United are a great team, but Milan are not afraid of any side in the world," Kaka told the Daily Star. "We respect them yes, but we are not afraid.

"We have a tremendous record in the Champions League. We have played 10 finals and won six.

"Our semi-finals with United will be as good as any knockout games you could wish to see."

Henry backs midfield wizard:

Thierry Henry believes Paul Scholes would be fully deserving of this season's PFA Player of the Year award.

Scholes is in the running for the prize along with United team-mates Cristiano Ronaldo - the bookies favourite to win it - and Ryan Giggs.

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard and Henry's Arsenal team-mate Cesc Fabregas are the other nominees.

The Gunners' skipper expects Ronaldo - who is also nominated in the Young Player of the Year category - to triumph but admits his vote went to United's other midfield wizard.

"My vote went to Paul Scholes," revealed the Arsenal captain who scooped the accolade in both 2003 and 2004. "You saw how much Manchester United missed him last season, and you have seen what a difference he has made when he has come back this year.

"If Cristiano Ronaldo does not win the main award, I think he should take the young player award.

Skipper excited by season finale:

Gary Neville is relishing the challenge of fighting on three fronts as United prepare to enter the final month of the campaign.

The Reds' skipper, who has been out of action with an ankle injury for the last four weeks, says the team's progress so far this season is already an achievement to be proud of. But he insists the players are determined to ensure they end the campaign on a high.

"It is a great prospect for all our players knowing we are going into the last month of the season still going for the three major trophies," Neville told Sky Sports News.

"It is where we wanted to be for the last three seasons and now we are here, we are going to enjoy it.

"There are similarities (to 1999) as we are still in the three competitions and it is tremendous achievement to be in the three competitions at this stage, not just for ourselves but for Chelsea as well.

"But there is a long way to go and we haven't won anything yet, we don't have any medals round our necks yet.

"The hardest work is still to come," warns the 32-year-old. "There has been a lot of work done by both teams in the first ten months of the season and this last month is the all-important one.

"Whoever wins those crucial moments in the matches will go on and finish the season the happiest."
