Only original batteries work for LX5 for now as it is ID secured. Model is DMW-BCJ13E, rcp is at $84.

Just bought a local unit, white color, from People's Audio in People's Park. No need to bargain. Quoted straight $680/- (plus 8G, pouch, inc GST) and a deal was done.
I know most forumers simply hate buying from Ah Beng store but who care so long as price is good, local set (warranty) and got the color I wanted.
Anyway, they don't have black. Only white.....For those interested in white, give it a try.

Ha, do you also notice LX5 is selling for around 350 pounds? Local recommended price is lower than the rest of the world other than those accepting USD already?

The RCP for Malaysia is rm 1899 btw. Of course, you can get it much cheaper than this, but the point is, our local recommended pricing is not higher than THE REST OF THE WORLD ;p

Well, not surprising as the european market imposed a huge tariff on all imported items.

If i am not wrong, the RCP for singapore earlier is $799. So malaysia rm1899 is not really that too bad. China is retailing at RMB 4000.

Just grumbling as the US side seems to be seeing the price drop faster than singapore. I saw on most of the online merchants are selling at US$450 ( RCP US$499) :dunno:

Just bought the Lx-5 for my girlfriend today from Alan Photo sls...They have so much stock of black and white..

$680 for set comes with case and 8gb kingston sdhc. $5 for screen protector..

Anyone got good source for lx5 half case from ebay to recommend?

Yup, this store is no frill, and gives good price - low overhead (both rental and labor); these are 2 components built inside the sales price. Good one!:thumbsup:
