Manual zoom. aka using your legs. :P

Yup, walk and exercise.
Remember the wise saying: "If your pictures ain't good enough, you ain't close enough."

And also, be realistic with your expectations, ie. mentally prepared that you won't be taking telephoto shots with this cam.
If that's really really impt to you, you should be looking at a superzoom instead... ;)

What you lose in telephoto, you gain in: wide, fast lens, amazing IQ for compact, size (cf most superzooms), etc etc.

hi everyone, can the lx-3 experts/owners advise on the option remote shutter? thanks.

Hi

Seeking some help with some qns.

1. For the viewfinder, does it attach to the hotshoe? if so, does it mean u can use a flash and viewfinder together?

2. Wide convertor - whats the widest it extends to? (film equivalent) and how does that affect the aperture? also, does AF work with the wide con on?

Thanks! Looking to sink my teeth into one!

Yes with the 46-52 step up ring and the Nikon WC-E75 I can get 18mm with the slightest hint of vignet. Unless you look for it, it is not so noticeable. Soon I will be able to try out the Nikon WC-E68 with even wider angles and maybe less vignet as this is a 46mm mount. It is also smaller and lighter compared to the WC-E75.

Guys, i am a newbie is LX3, i tried the recording mode, after recording i transfer the file from my lexar 4GB sdhc card to my computer. It is in "Mov" name. i can view it from the computer but when i try to computer using realplayer. Then i delete away the one in the SD card.

Now i copy the same file from the folder back to the SD card and try to play using my LX3.

It shows no file and i am unable to play the same file which i copy from lx3 to PC.

I'd say the LX3 actually has the edge at 1600 (though I'd use a tripod and ISO 80 for an 'actual' shot).

For me the LX3 really shows the power of its 24mm-wide lens here! 35mm on the F31 really can't compare!

Hello guys, just got myself one as well. Surprisingly, this camera works perfectly fine with my Pentax AF-540FGZ flash in auto mode (not P-TTL).

Both F31 and LX3 are good cameras...If only there was a F31 with a F2.0 and 24 mm wide lens !

what mode u guys shoot in?? full manual or leave it to the camera to do it's own stuff

woohoo, just got my LX-3 but its a silver one. I think i'm one of the rare breeds that got the silver instead of the black. But I have to say silver actually grows on you...even though black looks swweeet

Er WC-E75 was purchased during my Nikon 8400 days many years ago, price forgot.
WC-E68 was purchased from Amazon recently and should be delivered early next week, price U$59 plus shipping S$17.

WC-E68 is 46mm right? Let us know if results are good :D

Eh how much is the optical viewfinder?

Very happy to receive the Nikon WC-E68 today in perfect condition.
Initial test shows no vignet and is wider than the WC-E75 but also notice that the aberration at corners are not as good as WC-E75. If you are just viewing in normal mode or print 4R or 6R photos it should not border you. The smaller and lighter size more than make up for the corner aberration.
It will mount directly onto the 46mm adaptor without any need for step up or down ring.
Will do test and comparison once I have the time.
