Seems that images from LX2 isn't as good as the LX1 despite the higher 10MP.
Keeping it or pass it to my daughter as a toy. :)

no lx2.
just a picture showing my daughter toying around with the LX1.

For web-sized presentation, the LX2 size and noise improvements may not be that important. Higher ISO would be the bigger payoff, IMO - O.I.S. is great but it leaves moving people blurry! But I think I'll keep my LX1 for a while longer.

Luminous-landscape has just done a mini review... no, it should be MR's comment regarding the LX2. It reinforce my suspection that the LX2 isn't giving us better image quality despite the higher pixel count.

So LX1 still rocks despite the introduction of LX2. So I'll be keeping my LX1 and skip the LX2.

Hi all,

For those of you interested in LX2, I found (thanks to help of an ebay seller) a LX2 PDF manual in English. The PDF manual is not officially available on any of Panasonic websites but it can be obtained here..
http://panasonic.com.au/content/library/files/F001801.pdf

The differences between LX1 and LX2 I found are described here..

A very good news is the availability of Flash compensation feature! Amongst the other small feature additions, this often overlooked feature is very useful in close up photography.

WeeKH would you mind posting the details of your workflow?

Like you I have Noise Ninja but it never seems to be quite so clean as some of your shots.

Right now my path is: RAW->DNG->ACR (fairly default)->Noise Ninja

(The DNG conversion is using the standalone convertor)

I'm using the LX1 Noise Ninja profiles that are from the Noise Ninja website, and (usually) 8-bit output from Adobe Camera Raw. Are you setting noise-reduction values in ACR? Your pix tend to get solid blacks even in poor light, & I'm still plagued by "blue chunks" from time to time.

Thanks!

I have noise ninja but hardly use it. I find that details are removed along with noise. The result looks too smooth and watercolour like.

Yes, I convert all my RAW files to DNG format. I don't do much do much adjustment other than just some slight adjustment in WB and exposure.

this is really a good buy.
although the lx2 comes with better specs and form, the pics from LX1 is still very good.

wow, good price...but LX2 appears to be available in Europe already...I suspect pricing in the range of SGD700-850.

How do you find the difference between the LX1 and the F30?
