just got my lx1, black for $800. It comes with a hard case, 512 mb toshiba high speed sd card. Add $15 for a screen protector. Local waranty card.

Exclude 5%gst.

Thought you guys would like to know.

Anyway, my dslr is in the shop and after reading this thread, I decided to buy it as I need a cam tomorrow and me wife needs a compact for her overseas trip.

I keep wondering,

Suppose my problem is not a problem of the camera, or more specific of the sensorchip. Wouldn't Leica Germany have come up with some questions or suggestions concerning the origin of my problem resulting in the black spots on my images when they checked my first D-lux2 send in for servicing?:dunno:

U may just want to wait a little while and see if it is worth the get the LX2 or if the LX1 will come down in price.

If can't wait price should be around $850. Try people's park complex. One of those store quoted me $840 with GST some months back.

Yeah, I'm in no hurry i guess and i dont imagine me making any more short trips around the region or otherwise... Its just one of those things that tugs at your heart (and wallet) and makes you want to impulsively go buy one... :sweat: :embrass:

i'm waiting for lx2 reviews to come soon...or else mite as well get lx1 with a lower price.

Thanks! Will check it out today. I will need it for a trip in Sept or Oct, so me and hubby can have one camera each to play with. Heard a rumour that the LX2 will be released in Sept, so I plan to wait as long as I can. :sweat:
