LX-3 Accessories Retail Price

It's essentially 1 big chunk of glass.

dont think so lar, most low end (doesnt mean $$$ are high end one) are of 2 elements.

so far, what i have tested, truely good ones from oly 0.7xwcon and the look alike by schinider are MC 4 glass elements.

but i cant google find the number of elements this DMC LW 46 wide angle lens has.

i don't think any place selling it except leica, the design similar but slightly different, it's in vertical and slot in the camera. LUX 4 comes with that case.

Hi:)

I bought this, Lens Adaptor DMW-LA4 at CP-P:cool: (and with a few other items, FL36R+Step-up-ring+Extra 2-S005-Batteries+Anti-glare/Super-clear_LCD-protector-which :bigeyes:stated on it 'specially designed for LX3-LCD' was recommended by CP's staff)

Btw, hope this isn't too late but I doubt it:)(cos now then I decided to buy after much 'Live-view-of-pics-Quality:heart:')

What is the size of the filters to use for this adaptor DMW-LA4? I saw a 3rd party 52mm adaptor for this LX-3. So any difference?

Hi vonderbie;)

As for the size of DMW-LA4 that I've bought is 46mm filter-size but since I had long acquired all my filters being B+W UV-MRC 58, 62(for S2-IS and G7), 72 and 77mm and B+W 77mm-Slim-Cir-Pol and 62mm-Normal Cir-Pol. & other B+W Skylight, 81a and 85b(during film-age SLR) etc, with a number of Step-up-rings too, that's why I don't intend to purchase the B+W 46mm not even 52mm as Step-up-ring can easily helps prevent vignetting from occurring as compared to the actual-size of filter/s being used, especially UWA-lens(some ranging from very slightly at corners, and not all filter of same size used will result in vignetting ok...)

Regarding the 3rd-party 52mm I doubt I'd be able to give any comment at this point of time:embrass:cos I haven't got the opportunity to try it:)

Btw, hope my descriptions and expriences helps:cool:

Hi, care to elaborate on how step-up rings can prevent vignetting? I tot the "longer" extensions there are in front of the (main) lens, the higher the chances of vignetting?

Hi, there wasn't any main-lens involved here, it's all about LX3's DMW-LA4 filter-size. Perhaps, your 'longer' is just extended :bigeyes:outward but not outward+widen-upwards, are you able to understand at this point?:) As for me, I'm using outward+widen-upwards method, give you an example of using 46mm-52mm step-up-ring then one more from 52mm-58mm and 'kiasu' abit can even use one more from 58mm-62mm, so which means now that you've 3-layers of step-up-ring then srew-on your desire filter eg. UV or Cir-Pol. on my LX3 and perfectly alright:thumbsup:( pls note that We/I'm talking about:bigeyes:LX3 as this thread-related).

Hope the above descriptions clear your doubt:)

Understans only until the part in blue & nth beyond

Well, the only way is for you to get some helps from shops/friends/etc :bigeyes:with this few sizes of Step-up-ring that I had mentioned and try it out with your Adapter & B+W-UV-MRC-normal-thickness filter and you'll see/know what I meant.

For me I only realized that after combining of 3-step-up-rings without filter in front it does look like a lens-hood to me:bsmilie: at this point, is up to you as to whether you'd like to use UV or Cir-Pol., and/or if you'd prefer 'Stacking' of this 2-normal-thickness will result with just slight-vignetting at 4-corners(:bigeyes:B+W is used here, for your info, I've tried it liao, confirmed liao...ok...;))

Hi, where is CP-P? Thanks.

Hi, it's Cathay Photo Store at Pennisula Plaza;)

Btw, :bigeyes:call to check it out 1st before you make your way there:thumbsup: (as to avoid a wasted trip just in case if it's Out-Of-Stock:sweat:)

not sure if anyone resourceful could ans this but, any idea where can i get fish eye lens to attach it to my lx3? if so, how much would be the estimated price for the whole bundle. thanks!

You can use the adaptor with a Nikon FC-E9 (If you still can find one), it will fit perfectly and usable. Price I not sure but the FC-E9 is a discon product. Adaptor will also allow the use of WC-E68 (Another discon product) and allow wide angle to around 16mm without vignet.
Locally very hard to find but maybe you can try Amazon. I got the WC-E68 from Amazon cheap.
Forget about others as it will either vignet or quality is very bad at the corners.

I just got the 46-52mm adapter for my LX3. Which lens or filter should I get first?

I am intending to get either an adapter or the standard adapter tube for lx3 at CP-P.
