pic 24 very film like mode , i agree it's pleasing :)

regarding the S5,i used it for a while,,, very little problem with dust.... mostly do not affect the pics at all

I did some test shots on products earlier. AF is very fast & quiet on my D700 (slow on the D70 test cam). Haven't tried it on colours & flesh. It's very well built & love the size+balance well on my cam. I'll need to pick a good filter for it, what do you guys recommend?

How about B+W UV filter? There's a thread in the mass sale sub forum on it. 77mm goes for $100 if I'm not wrong. A good deal for the MRC UV filter.

Nice pic. Saw some of your test shots in your flickr account. All produces excellent bokeh. Beautiful.

Thanks Oshkosh. This is a great lens, and most importantly it gives good sharpness and contrast at f/1.4. I am really looking forward to getting more shots from it;p
Shot the following at F/1.4

I think its a good price. 824 prob about same price/ slightly higher as Nikon AFS 50mm.. Thats a good deal I think. 2 years is a standard warranty, tho I got additional 1 yr on my warranty card from MS photo (agent's deal to make it sweeter).

I only got 2 years warranty but website registration will give an additional 6 months....not bad lah...I guess:bsmilie:

Though I cant help but notice that the CA for this lens is quite high. Does anyone else have this character in his/her lens as well?

Well.. it's not all about bokeh. :) At low lit areas, the performance is pleasing.

did u take this shot secretly? i went there before and saw the security guards there dun let ppl take pic.

Not secretly at all... lol. No one stopped me. There wasn't any security guard at all when I took the pic.

Hi Oshkosh

Are you using full frame or DX camera?

I like the bokeh produced by this lens :)

I am using a DX camera. The bokeh is smooth and pic is generally sharp.

how is this sigma beauty compared with the nikkor AF-D 50mm f/1.4?
