It's been 2 years since I've gotten my DSLR (Jan 07). Known as the all-time BlurFairy and have not learnt photoshop of any sort since, I finally got myself a decent 1GB RAM for my lappy.

At the same time, during shooting, I try very hard to correct my bad habits like breathing techniques and stablize my shaky hands.

Oki I shall start with basic photoshopping....
Pulling out all my photos I previously took, it's gonna be one photo one day (whenever I can), and more practice practice practice...jiayu Faiy..

This pic was taken on a Sabah island on Jun2007. My 1st photography trip with Crossing Bridges Group and I was overwhelmed when I saw about 40 photographers armed with their eqpt, shooting at excellent angles and quality.. Everybody were so hardworking and combed the entire place for their picture-perfect shots.. The photo they produced... oooo, my jaw nearly dropped when I saw their photos during the presentation.

I told myself, Fairy..jiayu...u can do it..! try one 1st..

Welcome to APAD. Personally just feel that the cropping a bit tight in the above shot but nice take nevertheless. :)

This picture was taken at Allahabad during the Khumb Mela Festival (Jan 07), days after I got my 1st DSLR.

I have absolute no idea how to use my DSLR as i have not learnt what is A, S and ISO.... so braving the cold winter, I tried my best.. I went MANUAL.

I came back : 99% of my pics are blur cos I cannot handle the situation, lights, shutter, speed, aperture, angles etc..... but I am still encouraged.
The pics are of my treasures and they are always a part of my learning process..

All that's been said and done, this one came out delightfully stunning.
You caught it nicely when they were huddling together sharing the warmth of the moment.
Beautiful shot, sis.

I marvel at some cross-processed pictures by the great photographers especially the B/W ones.

Without knowing how to do it, I decided to try it on CS3..
and wahla..I got this... I really need lots of improvement..:embrass:

Photography and Skills aside... credit and heartfelt thanks to organiser of Crossing Bridges...I get to attend the Sabah 2007 photography trip.

We went to an offshore owned island (about2 hour speedboat ride) from the mainland, Semporna, Sabah. The residents never receive education, stayed in simple slit houses, fishing and seaweed farming as their hardy livelihood.
There was no medical, no dental, no school, no water, no electricity....!
some natives have not seen or know anything beyond their island.
Some ladies told me, they dun even know their age.

I was sad..not for them, but for myself.
I have been sheltered and given proper education. Been to travelling and had good food.
Compared to them, the less privileged locals are more contented and happier than me.
I have learned that I am so blessed.

This is a picture of the kids who took photographs with the PNS for the 1st time. They receive print-outs of their own photographs. I saw some parents held the prized pictures of their children in their hands.., I see tears swell in their eyes.. It was very very touching moment..

The picture not well taken, but it is my treasure now..
It has changed my perspective in photograhy and in my Life.....

Yes, i am still struggling with the CS3 ...still surviving on th simple choices...
thought of doing a b/w...thus gotten this effect i like..but may not be of the right standard.

appreciate if there are advises on how b/w basic guidelines should be..:embrass:

We were at Allahabad for the Kumbh Mela... locals streamed in from all over India to attend this holy festival. I was in a daze.. ooo...the crowd, the almost zero temperature, struggling with my new camera (with no skill) and definitely disorientated at the vast desert-like land. I did not have much courage to approach the people for photographs and dun know how.., so I choose to shoot like a tourist, and extremely tedious in low lights with no tripod (tripod got lost in transit at dehli airport).. I have missed so much photo opportunities..

I must go back there and try again..:sweatsm:
