I think the TS has trespassed into no man's land. Rmb the GOLDEN RULE: NEVER question or insult the professionalism of a professional. That is the ultimate insult.

Can i shoot for your wedding and not give you the photos? since this is a chance for me to explore my creativity only..

I believe it's his generalisation that got himself flamed.

Looking for free photog, juz say so lah... no need to give excuses one mah.... as if his experience was a wedding photog taking his wedding. :thumbsd:

Anyway, it's his decision. He'll have to accept whatever the outcome of this decision.

oops... it's student photogs... paiseh.

aniway since students will be taking on this job... a little advice... be careful of the deliverables and copyrights... make sure it's in black and white... also have in black and white a disclaimer that should the bride or groom or anyone not satisfied with your deliverables, you will not be liable as it's the risk they have accepted despite the advices given to them in this forum.

don't forget to add in a clause that this matter cannot be brought online and discussed across multiple forums, like the other time

yeah.. better add this in... look at the way he slammed the pro photog in the first post.

dun forget, his requirements are Creativity, Timing, Lightings and Human Touch later also kenna slammed in multiple forums as sloppy, no creativity, always mis-time, bad exposures and producing emotionally dead pics.

Clown is right, I do not produce any quality photos, but why should I go around hoping to bump into good photographers on purpose, very tiring, I just referring to my encounters in other events. Thats why I post this to see who got a simple but determined mindset waiting to try out.
djork okay I guess I cannot stop people from flaming, but I always have to explain, life is already very tiring, and still have to mind what I type, guess thats why alot of people turn to blogging, write what they want.
After all these posts, I feel abit tired and disheartened, guess I have to drop this request, but you know to those really crying for a chance, please secretly email me. kwattivy@hotmail.com

U still won't give up after all the posting? damn cheapo I will say..
wat if your relatives or frens, or even wife tik when they know how u low u can get.

haha sorry one more post to gktat1, everyone treasures their wedding, that is the reason no one wants to engage non-professional, but I am given that chance by a good friend, she trusted me even I got noooooo experience at all and she knows I like to take photos, so I am grateful and want to give others a chance too.
Again want to mention, for someone who really wants to prove his talents, he will work doubly hard than the professionals, by this, how can one not produce something of worth?
Also, I am not looking for free service, it is not to be seen as a service but rather as an experience.

u want to give others a chance, then someone u know..
not to anyone u duno..
so wat do u plan to give as an appreciaton of token, since u tik u r not cheapo?
Big ang pow, or just bye bye, shake hands n a thank u?
I tik the photographer is lucky to get a $88 ang pow for all his troubles.

Hi i am really keen on this as well...

Quite tired of conventional style of shooting wedding.

Hoping to try some really creative type of shots, i volunteer my own equipment as well (20D + 400f5.6L).

;)

alright man! 400mm is really something. sure can capture the details one. salute! :bsmilie:

Suggestion to more creative photography:
Ask all the guests to use their mobile phone cams to shoot.

Benefits:
1) Get many more angles than any pro or hard working student can ever dream of!
2) It's free. Good 'experience' for all shooters.

Result:
Priceless.

Not necessary, some hp cams with 2 MP or more may be able to take shots with 4R prints. Optical quality is another story altogether.

Actually really envy his future wife, cos his hubby really good at saving money ...
like most of us here ... always spend money on camera and lens ... :embrass:

Btw, an advice to those student who taken up the assignments, please remember to bring your own food and own drink that day, cos most probably no food no drink will be provided. And dun expected to have any angbao!

Wa, ONE wedding. ONE life.

You can't even do it for your wife. Shame on you!

But it's ok, if you want I can volunteer to use my Canon A540 to take snapshots of your wedding, you just gimme a meal.. <3 <3 <3

I will take all shots at the maximum ISO so that image quality will be minimal! <3 <3 <3

In a weird perverse way, I'm actually tempted to try shooting this assignment. The wedding sounds like it's a no obligation wedding, since the photogrpapher isn't being paid and I've always wanted to shoot a wedding with the Martin Parr kind of style. hmmm:think:

When is your event held? If I am free I'll help you out. :) There are no gimmicks and I won't be late or half-way MIA.

I can only promise you quantity. I can capture more images than your pro photographer and more candids than your pro photographer.

Congratulations on your wedding. I have been a second photographer once, and I find it really enjoyable. Gongxi~

Skill aside, if you do a botched job, good luck.

I've heard of horror stories from friends from nice, smiling people who claim that there is no pressure whatsoever, and then when they see that the photos are not what they wanted or had in mind (which a professional could have given them, since it -is- their bloody likelihood).. The smile goes, and all the nastiness comes out and lo and behold, the wedding's over and they have photos that they don't like.

And besides, you take good photos, sure. But a wedding is another thing altogether, I'm sure you've seen shots from professionals here - a mixture of good and bad. Can you compare to the good ones? Are you willing to take the responsibility of a chance in a lifetime?

That explained why Professional Photographer should charge (they paid for the expensive equipment and spend time to do the job).

Even student photographers who are gaining experience should charge for transport, their equipment depreciation and etc. Those who want to save money are selecting "better" students to take also. If not so skilled == free..probably all the fresh graduates should just stop looking for paid job and start working free for companies....

The thread to challenge "Camera man" in a Camera man forum is obviously stupid, doing a favour for a friend is undoubtedly something different from doing a free assignment, and need no explanation.

Please do remember, when you gain something, someone has to lose. So be more considerate when giving people a "chance", not for the skills but the time and effort, and the depreciation of the "camera equipment" that could be easily estimated.
