I am in the HR department of a local retail chain. We are looking for a part-time photographer (tertiary students are welcome) to take pictures of our hardware and tools products indoors to be put up in our webstore. Assignment should last from Jan to Mar 2008. You would need your own digital camera and adobe photoshop software for editing. We welcome students with passion and experience in indoor photography. If you would like to apply or want to know more, please email resume and portfolio (if any) to joseph@home-fix.com.:)

It would be better to get the 'pros' to the job for your retail chain. They have the equipment and the experience to make your products look impressive in the web which in turn would generate good sales for your company.

If cost is your concern then get quotes and compare to get the best value of your money.

Is it a paid job?

have e-mailed you !

Is it a paid job?

Yes, it is a paid job. We wiill negotiate the pay with the selected photographer. We are on a budget, that's why we are looking for part-timers. Does not have to be a full time professional to produce good shots, I think.

I can produce good shots with my handphone camera. Do I qualify?

Well you also have to make sure that their adobe photoshop is a licensed copy and not even student version, as it is to be used for business. I am sure you will not want to risk any IP violation at your company premises.

i think need more than just camera and software...

u need tis...

If you have your own indoor lighting equipment, that would be great. Otherwise, we would have to arrange for it ourselves.

well, thats my setup...

normally i prefer shooting own time own target kind...

shooting on location would be more expensive as i need to get assistant and time to setup and dismantle.

just kpo, wat type of light do you have?

Guys, it's simple, they don't want to pay. They are cheap, on a budget. They don't mind making money from the website, bt they mind paying the photographer who help thme make money.

forgot to quote the above statement.

btw, where is there current website http://www.home-fix.com and they do have numerous stores in Singapore.

btw, does part-times means charging less?

Another attempt to exploit members of CS.

I think that's pretty much what they are hoping to achieve. I wonder what is the kind of budget they have in mind, exactly.

He thinks there is no need for pro at all... cos anyone can produce good shots. In the same manner any student or part timer can also be a HR manager :bsmilie::bsmilie:

I sent them an email-with a darn low rate at that. They didn't even bother to reply me

I wonder how low is low :dunno:

And Home-Fix is not exactly doing too badly in the local scene. Wonder why they need to scrimp on photographs.

(I wish they pick and newbie and allow their heads to roll due to wasted money paying for useless shots)

I pity this TS. there are so many other TS in the marketplace exploiting newbies for freebies, but got away from it. :bsmilie::bsmilie::bsmilie:

If he is not bothered to reply, I take it that my "low" price is "high" to him.
So.. no point is there? :dunno:

Anyway I ma not going to rely on photography to feed me. Looking at the market right now, I am starting to appreciate the fact that I have a desk job, instead of getting stressed everyday trying to find assignments (I used to treat a desk job as a pain in the backside, much more boring than photojournalism and flying around in a chopper)

Thanks for your advise. We would explore all options.
