nm.. blackpool is being unrealistic... with his contract running down.. I doubt he will be worth anything more than 4-5m pound come summer.

my first thought is also 50m is good deal... then we had to go out and spend 70% 35m on unprovened Andy Carroll... he jolly well be the real deal, the next Alan Shearer for that kind of fees.

ALAN SHEARER believes Kenny Dalglish will make the best of Andy Carroll’s ability.

“He’s going to a football club that has to win trophies, is expected to win trophies,” Shearer said, who played under Reds manager Dalglish in Blackburn’s Premier League-winning team.
