freaking hell .. i hate arsenal .. u die .. we will pwn u 6-0 the nxt time

I've not watched soccer for a very long time, was a Liverpool fan and my elder brother an MU fan, we used to be such rivals when it comes to soccer those were the days.

I still remember a set-piece and the play is etched into my memory like it happened yesterday. Started by Steve Heighway in the midfield to Kevin Keegan in the wings and crossed over to John Toshack who scored that big winner. Funny thing is I can remember this passing and scoring very clearly but I cannot remember who the opponents were.

At that time Wolves was still in the top division, I think they are now nowhere to be heard in the top league.

Liverpool have today confirmed the signing of Argentinian defender Emiliano Insua on an 18 month loan deal.

The teenage left back - who has represented his country at under 20 level - has arrived from Boca Juniors and signed a deal to keep him at Anfield until June 2008.

"He is a good, young player with a lot of potential," said manager Rafael Benitez.

lol .... did i hear a thumping sound on my wall that nite? i saw the scoreline 6-3 and nearly fainted :bsmilie:

wa seh... taken outside nou camp!

Wait till you see Santiago Bernabéu, which I feel was the most impressive stadium in Spain. Their trophy room is awesome. Barcelona pales in comparision.

The worst was when I was forced to visit Old Trafford by my wife. I refuse to have my photos taken there, and I just took a couple of photos of my wife there just for her sake.

Can't be... Glenn Hoddle would be considered recent, I think it is at the times when Pat Jennings was still the keeper at White Hart Lane and Steve Perryman was captain of Spurs.

The Liverpool team manager was Bob Paisley at that time. Anyway, those days Liverpool was a great joy to watch both English League/FA Cup and the European Championships/Cup. Was always a formible side.

I think the whole Liverpool line-up would probably be the following:

1 - Ray Clemence - Keeper
2 - Phil Neal
3 - Phil Thomson
4 - Ray Kennedy
5 - Emily Hughes (Captain)
6 - Mark Lawrenson ?
7 - Kevin Keegan
8 - Steve Heighway
9 - ? Johnston
10 - John Toshack
11 - Ian? Callaghan

Before the likes of Ian Rush and Kenny Dalglish was on the Liverpool team.

why everyone still thinking of liverpool buyin new players
is not abt getting new players, is abt getting the teamwork like man u or arsenal.

New players would give us more options. But one problem is that most of our signings are squad players and don't really add much quality to the squad itself.

But I fully agree with you, the way the team plays is disgraceful. No understanding, no ideas, the movement and passing poor. We're playing exactly like Sven's england now, one dimensional and tactically deficient not to mentioned rigidly stuck to the 4-4-2 and afraid to take risks. Rafa should really look at himself and his coaches and ask questions rather than only focus on bringing new players in.

If we win anything, I would, of course, be over the moon. But that's not the main thing I want. I want to see us play proper football, not the crap we dished up all season. Stop lying to ourselves that more possession (mostly in non-threatening areas especially) and half-baked shots from afar constitutes playing well. Team spirit and self-belief also needs to be improved. These things need to be improved. More than signing players, these are what coaches are paid to do.
