Life on the streets

MIND YOUR LANGUAGE

Relaxing or surrendering? Body language determines 80% of our communication with others. So, mind your language.

THE MOST FUN $image-4102927885.jpg
Chinese New Year at the new Punggol Waterway Point. It's a fact the kids have the most fun during festivity. Even my shutter-clicking finger had problem keeping up.

EVERGREENS
$image-1881024293.jpg
Shopping, Uniqlo, ice cream and good friend. Age is never a deterrent to some good things in life.

TERMS OF ENDEARMENT
$image-1361720046.jpg
This grainy photo of Miss Cutie is the result of low light condition indoor and it being 3-stop under exposed. Pardon the technicality but the wonders of shooting in high ISO and in raw format provided me with this photo opportunity. The result is this grainy capture of an endearing moment. I missed my daughter when she's this age.

HAVING A BALL
$image-352878213.jpg
Kendama fever. It's good to see the youths putting aside the digital platform and getting into some physical fun instead. Some of the tricks I witnessed they can do with this traditional stick and ball are so creative and astounding. Yo-Yo has a serious competitor.

GOOD COMPANY
$image-3207628979.jpg
Wheels revolutionised much of our modern transportation. They shortened our travelling time. But any journey is a short one if we have good company.

THE PRINCESS
$image-55859119.jpg
The playground provides many scenarios for different children. It's a place where imagination runs wild. Picture another galaxy under this structured shade, or a kingdom where a princess rises to save the day. Keep imagining, princess, don't ever stop. It's the birthplace to many dreams.

What an amazing series!
Thanks for showing us what you see

Thank you so much for visiting, Treeclimber! Hope to keep shooting so there's plenty more where this comes from. (:

DRESS CODE
$image-400554533.jpg
The street doesn't care what I wear when I arrive. It only cares that I visit it once in a while. This vendor who determined his own dress code attested to this.

Very amazed with your captioning of all photos and I enjoyed reading them. Just curious what is your setup for these photos?

Hi PinkDevil, thank you much for visiting & encouraging words. My setup is the Leica M Monochrom (older version) with just one lens, 35mm Summicron.

APPRECIATING THE MOMENTS

NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS

Slow down. Pause even. Enjoy a good company. Don't ever forget the ice cream. New year resolutions in check.

SUDDEN HUNGER
$image-2861868034.jpg
Bak Kwa is a popular Chinese delicacy in Singapore of barbecued pork slices. They are insanely tasty and are commonly bought during Chinese New Year occasions. I wish I could depict the incredible aroma that surrounded this photo.

FAMILIAR STRANGER

Boy asked for his photo to be taken. How rare is that? 'Twas a good day for Street Photography.

PHOTOGENIC

Photogenic happens when you strike an interesting pose without knowing you are posing in the first place.

OUTLOOK
$image-2210193902.jpg
Chinese characters depict "the arrival of a pleasant year". Shop owner needed some assurance. Keep the faith, sir.

I COME IN PEACE
$image-2383950962.jpg
I was totally mesmerised by this character. I didn't know what intrigued me more, the mysterious all-concealing headgear or the sci-fi-like whatever he was holding. I heard myself saying I need to take a photo just in case he shoots me with that weapon and whatever is flesh on me disintegrated into powder. My camera will then hold proof that I've encountered someone other-worldly. Disappointingly, nothing happened as I passed. Not even a "take me to your leader". Obviously he came in peace.
